Project Manager (S)

Purpose

  • The Directorate Project Manager provides support across the win and execute phases of the SBM Brownfield Product Line, with the objective of setting up Offshore Brownfield projects, enhancing execution performance, reducing risk, meeting HSSE, financial and contractual targets, and driving consistent high standards of project execution within SBM.
  • As an expert Project Manager with extensive experience in EPC O&G projects and offshore Brownfield projects, you will act as a role model and contact point for assigned project managers within the BPS Program.
  • You may also serve as overall Project Manager or Project Director for strategically important Brownfield projects when required.

Responsibilities

During EPC Execution – For Complex / Critical Projects

  • Review, provide input, and validate the Project Execution Strategy in conjunction with the manager to whom you report.
  • Review, provide input, and validate the Project Execution Framing, Planning, recommendations for Project Risks and associated contingency levels, and Resource allocation through the assigned Project Manager (PM) and/or Project Director (PD).
  • Oversee framing, early scope definition, and intervention management for emergency projects.
  • Review all aspects of Project performance and provide feedback through project reports, meetings with the Project Management Team (PMT), and attendance at Project Dashboards and Project Gate Reviews.
  • While the Project team remains in charge of overall Project setup, review and validate the project execution plan, schedule, and budget setups.
  • Recommend corrective actions, in conjunction with your Manager, when needed.
  • Perform specific Project reviews determined by the Directorate or requested by the Management Board or Product Line Director, such as cold eye reviews.
  • Validate Project commercial risk exposure levels monthly through the Project Dashboard and Pre-Financial Review process.
  • Support Project Managers in dispute resolution with Clients, Vendors, and Yards.
  • Communicate Quality or HSSE incidents across projects in the portfolio to ensure awareness and implementation of mitigating measures.
  • Ensure project reporting is consistent and aligned with Brownfield Product Line requirements to manage the project portfolio.
  • Ensure historical data on schedule, cost, and resources are properly archived to develop KPIs and benchmarks.

Governance Role

  • Develop governance processes across the Brownfield Product Line, including identifying flaws, leading workshops to define root causes and mitigations, and defining and deploying processes.
  • Identify key lessons learned applicable to all brownfield projects and ensure corrective actions are identified and deployed across the Brownfield organization.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Professional certification such as Project Management Professional.

Experience

  • More than 15 years of relevant industry experience with an expert-level project/program management background leading offshore O&G Brownfield projects and Greenfield EPC projects.
  • Solid brownfield project experience and associated offshore execution exposure is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of project planning, financial controls, risk management, and contract and commercial management.
  • Proven leadership skills, including managing your own team with a demonstrable positive track record.
  • Culturally astute and able to promote and leverage diversity effectively.
