At Nationale-Nederlanden (NN), you will be part of the Public Markets team within the largest insurance company and leading asset owner in the Benelux region as a Credit Portfolio Manager. You will be responsible for the fixed-income portfolio and contribute to making NN’s operating capital more sustainable. With strong relationship-building skills, you will manage one major external asset manager and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, ensuring focus on what truly matters to customers.

What you are going to do

In this role, you will manage a broad range of fixed income asset categories and support the delivery of sustainable returns from externally managed mandates. Given recent developments in asset management activities, this role requires excellent relationship management skills and the ability to critically evaluate both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of external managers.

You will play a key role in reviewing processes and analysing the performance and philosophies of various mandates. You will take responsibility for the operating capital generation of the General Account, provide insights into market developments, identify new opportunities within the Public Markets universe, and participate in investment meetings with internal and external stakeholders. You will also contribute to the further integration of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) into the investment process.

Who you are

As an experienced investment professional, you combine strong analytical skills and a critical mindset with excellent communication abilities to ensure your team delivers on its commitments. You can manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders effectively without being easily influenced. With dedication, attention to detail, and accuracy, you take ownership of your responsibilities. You continuously seek ways to learn, grow, and improve processes while being open to feedback.

  • A relevant academic degree and at least 7 years of experience in financial markets and asset management
  • A proven track record in financial markets with in-depth knowledge of all major fixed-income asset classes
  • Expertise in monitoring and evaluating mandates within the Public Markets universe
  • Experience or an affinity with institutional asset management
  • Experience in sustainability
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, to work effectively in a diverse, international environment
