We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our Nedap Tech Platform team. As part of a collaborative group spread across Europe and North America, you will modernize and maintain a diverse infrastructure that includes physical servers, virtual machines, and cloud-based environments.

Our infrastructure features container platforms, databases, observability stacks, and storage systems. As Site Reliability Engineer you will focus on automating legacy systems, improving infrastructure, and supporting the services that drive Nedap’s innovative products.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do—you’ll work closely with application teams, championing a DevOps culture and delivering future-proof solutions that empower our organization.

If you're passionate about infrastructure, teamwork, and innovation, we’d love to welcome you on board!

What are you going to do?

Your responsibilities

Maintain and Modernize Infrastructure

Manage physical servers, virtual machines, and cloud environments, while driving modernization efforts for legacy systems.

Enhance and Develop Platforms

Build and optimize container platforms, databases, observability stacks, and storage systems to ensure scalability and performance.

Automate for Reliability

Streamline workflows with automation to improve system reliability and minimize manual intervention.

Collaborate on Service Delivery

Work with application teams to deliver scalable, high-performing managed services.

Establish Monitoring Systems

Configure monitoring and alerting systems to ensure uptime and system health.

Champion DevOps Culture

Promote best practices and innovation to align infrastructure with business goals, fostering collaboration across teams.

Your team

The Nedap Tech Platform focuses on unburdening and supporting development teams within the Nedap business units with all aspects of the software development process such as tooling, frameworks, deployment and insights. We believe that combining the different disciplines in software development leads to more effective collaboration and better propositions. We do this by offering expertise with issues such as architecture, compliance or quality, but also with building an application platform.

As Site Reliability Engineer you’ll join a close-knit team of professionals across Europe and North America, all committed to building reliable and innovative infrastructure. At Nedap, we prioritize work-life balance and mental well-being, creating an environment where you can grow personally and professionally.

What You Can Expect From Us:

  • A highly skilled, collaborative, and globally connected team.
  • A flexible, remote-friendly work environment tailored to modern life.
  • Regular communication through daily video standups, weekly meetings, and optional quarterly in-person gatherings.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation aligned with European and North American time zones.
  • Genuine care for your well-being from both your teammates and the organization.

What's in it for you?

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Nedap, you will make a valuable contribution to our goal: making people happier and more successful in their professional lives. A company car is optional for this role. In addition to your salary, you are entitled to a thirteenth month, a good pension scheme, and profit sharing with the opportunity to become a shareholder of Nedap. At Nedap, everything revolves around trust and autonomy. That’s why, along with your colleagues, you decide on your own working hours and vacation days to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We also highly value personal and professional growth. You will receive a comprehensive introduction, and we encourage you to continuously develop yourself.

Required skills

As Site Reliability Engineer you’ll join a team where your ability to connect, adapt, and stay organized matters as much as your technical skills. With professionals across time zones, empathy, clear communication, and proactive engagement keep us thriving. As this position includes on-call duties, effective planning and time management skills are crucial to balance your responsibilities while ensuring seamless collaboration with teammates. You can also expect occasional datacenter visits for maintenance and/or hardware upgrades. We’re looking for a candidate with 5-8 years of experience in similar roles.

Technical Skills We’re Looking For:

  • On-premise & Cloud: Experience with cloud and on-premise environments, database management (e.g., MySQL, Elasticsearch), and a basic understanding of software development. Experience with Proxmox or other open-source hypervisors like CloudStack or OpenStack is a plus.
  • Web application infrastructure: Hands-on experience with high-volume web application infrastructure, especially with cloud-native and/or microservice architecture.
  • Platforms & Tools: Expertise in container platforms (e.g., Nomad), automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions), and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Observability tools: Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., DataDog, VictoriaMetrics).
  • Hardware: Hands-on datacenter experience is a requirement.
  • Language skills: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Good to know: Hybrid (remote) working is common within Nedap and together with your team you will arrange your own working hours for a good work-life balance. You are living in the Netherlands and are able to visit our data centers in The Netherlands.
