What are you going to do?

Would you like to use your experience in Computer Vision and AI to help introduce and further develop our new Vision technology? If so, please read our job vacancy for a Computer Vision Expert.

As a Computer Vision Expert, you will contribute to the introduction of Vision technology. We are expanding our platform with smart, scalable solutions that help farmers monitor cows via video. From edge devices deployed on-premise to intelligent processing in the cloud, we convert raw sensor and video data into actionable insights for farmers and farm visitors.

As a Computer Vision Expert, you will take ownership of this new technology to take it to the next level. A unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working hands-on with AI and Computer Vision, with a direct impact on current and future products. You will be involved in creating, optimising and validating/evaluating models based on real-world experience. Working with other team members, you will ensure that complex models function on an edge device, where they reliably generate actionable insights for the customer. This involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders and setting up experiments.

Your responsibilities

Further development and optimisation of Computer Vision

Further developing, optimising and making existing AI/Computer Vision models more robust with a view to implementation.

Edge model acceleration

Converting and accelerating models using ONNX and TensorRT for edge deployment.

Development

Training, validating and fine-tuning models in PyTorch.

Documentation and knowledge sharing

Documenting design choices, optimisation techniques and validation results.

Your team

As a Computer Vision Expert, you will be part of the “Vision Insights” team. Our Innovation team has developed a new technology, which you will take to the next stage in collaboration with your team and other teams. Your team consists of a Product Owner, a Computer Vision Expert, two Software Engineers and a Data Engineer. The “Vision Insights” team is a multidisciplinary team focused on further developing computer vision algorithms, building and maintaining software applications, processing and managing data systems, and ensuring the quality and reliability of the system.

You will collaborate closely with your teammates, but will also be in frequent dialogue with other teams and disciplines within R&D. The teams focus on software for both dairy farmers and our global business partners. In this way, we strive to continuously improve life on the farm. The teams are multidisciplinary and work according to our Agile way of working. There is a continuous stream of new features based on our own insights and customer feedback.

What's in it for you?

As a Computer Vision Expert at Nedap, you will make a valuable contribution to our goal: making people happier and more successful in their professional lives. In addition to your salary, you are entitled to a thirteenth month, a good pension scheme, and profit sharing with the opportunity to become a shareholder of Nedap. At Nedap, everything revolves around trust and autonomy. That’s why, along with your colleagues, you decide on your own working hours and vacation days to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We also highly value personal and professional growth. You will receive a comprehensive introduction, and we encourage you to continuously develop yourself.

Required skills

As a Computer Vision Expert, it is important that you are flexible and able to work with a tech stack that has not yet been fully defined, making independent decisions to ensure the project moves in the right direction. You know how to select and apply the right tools and infrastructure. You have strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines.

You recognise yourself in the following points:

  • Work experience: 5 years’ experience in machine learning, including at least 1 year in computer vision, preferably with PyTorch.
  • Model conversion and acceleration: Familiar with model conversion and acceleration (e.g. ONNX, TensorRT) for deployment on edge devices.
  • Programming languages: Extensive experience with Python or similar programming languages.
  • Video data processing: Strong expertise in Computer Vision, including the analysis and processing of image and video data; experience with OpenCV is an advantage.
  • Experience with software engineering: Version control (git) and a focus on maintainability.
  • Language skills: You speak and write English fluently. Knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.

Good to know: Hybrid (remote) working is common practice at Nedap, and you will coordinate your working hours with your team to ensure a good work-life balance. You will be present at our campus in Groenlo at least three times a week.

Nedap is a leader in Digital Twin solutions, bridging the physical and digital worlds in Healthcare, Retail, Security, and Livestock. Our technology stack—built on IoT, RFID, Vision, and SaaS—provides real-time insights to optimize operations, manage risks, and drive data-driven decisions. In short, Nedap’s Digital Twin Technology empowers businesses to unlock their full potential.
