AI Solutions Architect (Pre-sales) - Strategic Accounts

As a Solutions Architect for Strategic Accounts in the Benelux Field Engineering team at Databricks, you will use your technical expertise to demonstrate how the Data Intelligence Platform can help customers solve complex data challenges. You'll work with a collaborative, customer-focused team that values innovation and creativity, creating customised solutions to help customers achieve their goals and guide their businesses forward.

The impact you will have:

• Lead the technical strategy for key strategic accounts within the Benelux region, assessing customer architecture and providing strategic guidance and deep technical expertise across multiple systems, teams, and stakeholders, from data and AI practitioners to C-level leaders.
• Act as a trusted advisor to VP and BU-1 leaders, driving alignment through negotiations and ensuring long-term technical commitment.
• Abstract learnings from your builds into reusable patterns and guidance for the wider Databricks community, anticipating objections before they surface.
• Move beyond proof of concept to deliver measurable business outcomes, using adoption signals to ensure sustained customer impact.
• Coach junior team members on technical discovery and complex use-case prioritisation, helping the team maintain high standards at sustained velocity.

• Experience in customer interactions in a technical pre-sales capacity and ability to manage complex sales lifecycles.
• Strong skills in use case discovery, scoping, and delivering complex solution architecture designs to multiple audiences, with the ability to switch context and levels of technical depth.
• Technical depth in AI tooling and solutions combined with broad expertise across the data landscape, including Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and GenAI.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Databricks, AWS, Microsoft, GCP, or other relevant platforms; certifications are advantageous.
• Prior coding experience in a core programming language such as Python or SQL, and willingness to learn Apache Spark™.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, with a track record of identifying emerging risks early and mobilising others to act even when full information is not available.
• Recognised as an experienced architect who can confidently lead technical discussions and solve high-complexity, multi-account architectural challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Notes on the role:

• This is an office-based contract in Amsterdam with a hybrid schedule.
• An initial 12-month fixed-term contract will be offered, with the expectation of extension or conversion to FTE upon successful completion of the probation period.
