As Business Controller, you will act as a key business partner and the right hand of the Business Area Finance Director, supporting two business units within Corbion. In this senior, hands-on role, you drive value creation by translating financial and operational data into clear insights that support strategic and commercial decision-making. You operate close to the business, working on topics such as pricing, forecasting, innovation and investment business cases, and scenario analyses based on rapidly changing market conditions. The role requires a high level of autonomy, versatility and the ability to challenge the business while remaining a constructive and trusted partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic business partner to the Business Area Finance Director, supporting decision-making across two business units.
- Lead and support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and long-term strategic planning cycles in line with Corbion’s multi-year strategy.
- Develop, review and challenge complex business cases for innovation projects, pricing initiatives, investments and strategic initiatives.
- Drive top-line performance management, focusing on volumes, net sales, net selling price, margins and value drivers.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, market developments and pipeline health; proactively identify risks, opportunities and deviations.
- Prepare and present financial insights and management reports, translating complex analyses into clear and actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with sales, product management, business development and regional teams to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting and performance management.
- Support Corbion’s data and reporting transformation initiatives by contributing financial expertise and insights.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies and governance standards.
You bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- 8 years+ of relevant experience in business controlling, FP&A or financial business partnering.
- Strong analytical skills with proven experience in building and challenging business cases.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment and switch quickly between topics and priorities.
- Solid understanding of commercial drivers such as pricing, sales performance and pipeline management.
- Experience translating financial data into insights for senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities in a multinational environment.
- Fluent English (Dutch is considered a plus).
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or supply-chain-driven environment is a strong advantage.
- Exposure to global or regional stakeholder landscapes is preferred.
- Experience with ERP and BI environments (e.g. SAP S/4HANA, BI tools, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI) is a plus.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
