Join bloomon’s Operations team as an Inventory & Supply Planner, supporting the end-to-end planning and digital inventory management of non-horticultural products such as gifts, vases and pots.

bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head by disrupting the traditional supply chain, shortening the journey for flowers by skipping traditional auction and wholesale steps, and using technology, brand and innovation to deliver gifts and subscriptions across Europe. We care wildly about people and our planet, and we’re proud to be a certified B Corp™ committed to making long-term positive change for our community and the world around us.

🛠️ Operations Team @ Bloom & Wild Group

The Operations team at bloomon and Bloom & Wild is split into two sub-teams, although in practice there is close collaboration between them on a daily basis:

  1. Production and supply chain - centralized around the two main warehouses near Amsterdam and Birmingham, these teams run sourcing, supply chain, production and fulfilment operations. They cover flowers, plants, gifts, food & drinks, packaging material and more, optimizing for customer satisfaction, On Time-In Full fulfilment, quality and associated COGS.

  2. Fulfilment and Customer Operations - managing partially outsourced sourcing, production and fulfilment in the UK, optimizing delivery operations across active countries and servicing customers with the Customer Delight team. The team works closely with partners to achieve operational excellence and optimize for quality, customer satisfaction, delivery performance, capacity and associated COGS.

As part of the Production and Supply Chain domain, the Central Operations Planning team is at the center of the end-to-end supply chain. To ensure an optimal production and fulfilment process in the warehouses, the team works between forecasting, sourcing, commercial country teams, logistics and warehouse teams. By understanding different and sometimes opposing needs, the team optimizes product availability while minimizing wastage on fresh products and unlocking maximum flexibility in the supply chain as efficiently as possible.

You will work alongside the Lead Supply Planner, responsible for peak planning and operational coordination, and the Planning Manager, who currently looks after flower and plant planning. This is a new role created to support the growing range of non-horticultural products, where you’ll be responsible for end-to-end planning and digital inventory management.

To excel in this role you need a strong analytical mindset, great Excel and AI automation skills, and to pride yourself in being a meticulous executor and a rockstar in prioritisation.

⚙️ What you'll be doing

  • Be the central point of contact regarding non-horticultural supply planning for operational, supply chain and commercial teams, balancing opposing interests in the best way possible.

  • Convert daily, weekly and monthly commercial demand forecasts into supply and production planning systems.

  • Gatekeep stock levels of all products across countries, brands and delivery days, ensuring products are available while minimizing wastage, in close cooperation with commercial, procurement and warehouse teams.

  • Keep systems up to date operationally, including uploading stock availability, maintaining range plans in tooling and solving availability issues caused by backend product settings.

  • Manage the complex dynamics of an expanding SKU mix with varying and limited freshness shelf life across home & living, fresh food and drinks.

  • Solve out-of-stock situations, for example by upgrading individual customer orders, triggering resends and aligning with Customer Delight on customer communication.

  • Act as a key stakeholder and user of the stock management tool and various dynamic sheets used for supply chain cooperation.

  • Optimize and continue automating the sheets and processes you own, while collaborating closely with Product and Tech to improve the parts they own.

  • Ensure accurate stock management and reflection in system landscapes in close collaboration with warehouses, investigating stock discrepancies and solving root causes.

  • Support the planning and execution of supply chain and warehouse operations around bank holidays and yearly peak sales periods such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day and Christmas.

  • Support the Lead Supply Planner and provide holiday cover when required.

✅ You’ll love this role if you…

  • Have a degree in business or a related field.

  • Have 2-5 years of experience in a supply chain environment and working with inventory or supply/demand planning.

  • Have highly advanced analytical skills with an ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Have advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets knowledge and experience, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, INDEX MATCH, QUERY and IMPORTRANGE.

  • Enjoy a structured week with recurring yet challenging tasks.

  • Perform well under pressure and are good at prioritizing.

  • Are a confident and comfortable user of AI for analyses and automation.

  • Have a strong eye for detail and aim to be 100% correct.

  • Have a problem-solving mindset and enjoy unravelling complex challenges.

  • Have great communication skills and experience in stakeholder management.

  • Have experience working with ERP/WMS systems.

  • Are fluent in English.

  • Are willing and able to travel to the warehouses at least once a week.

  • Are based in the Netherlands or UK, within travel distance to the Amstelveen or Nuneaton warehouse.

These are some of the skills and experience expected to enable success in this role, but if you are missing some of them, you are still encouraged to apply if you are excited about the values and passionate about the work.
