As part of the Corporate Development team, you will work at the heart of strategic decision-making, driving key initiatives that influence the company’s global expansion, portfolio evolution, and strategic priorities.

You will play a pivotal role in translating strategy into execution, from shaping strategic programs to supporting selected activities such as carve-outs and integrations. Your work will directly contribute to Vanderlande’s continued leadership in a dynamic and international market.

Introduction

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the long-term direction and growth of Vanderlande. In this role, you will support Vanderlande’s executive leadership in defining and executing the company’s strategic agenda. You will play a central role in the corporate strategy cycle and lead strategic initiatives that drive growth, transformation, and operational excellence across the organization.

Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Your scope will range from strategic analysis and program leadership to supporting specific transaction-related activities such as carve-outs and integrations.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Strategy & Strategic Programs

  • Drive the corporate strategy cycle, leading market analysis, shaping strategic plans, and converting strategy into concrete, high-impact initiatives.
  • Lead and orchestrate cross-functional strategic programs that accelerate Vanderlande’s long-term growth and strengthen its competitive position.
  • Deliver sharp strategic insights and decisive recommendations to senior leadership and executive management.
  • Own and drive the execution of critical transformation initiatives across business units and regions.

Strategic Analysis & Decision Support

  • Conduct market, competitive, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop business cases, scenario analyses, and strategic roadmaps for new growth initiatives.
  • Provide structured insights and recommendations to leadership on portfolio optimization and strategic investments.

Transaction Support, Carve-outs & Integrations

  • Support selected transaction-related activities, with a primary focus on carve-outs and integration initiatives.
  • Help structure and coordinate integration programs to ensure smooth transitions and value realization.
  • Contribute to transaction preparation and evaluation when relevant, supporting business case development and strategic assessment.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior leaders across business units, functions, and regions to drive alignment and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted partner to management by providing structured thinking, clear analysis, and pragmatic solutions.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to ensure effective implementation of strategic programs.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor progress of strategic initiatives and ensure delivery of targeted business outcomes.
  • Introduce best practices in strategy development, program management, and integration execution.
  • Drive a culture of structured problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.

What do we ask from you?

  • Master’s degree (WO) in Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, management consulting, or a similar strategic role.
  • Experience in strategy consulting is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience with leading strategic programs and transformation initiatives in complex international organizations.
  • Experience with transaction-related activities such as carve-outs, integrations, or transformation programs is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with business case development, valuation and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to strategy execution.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
