The Marketing department is based in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, and supports the entire Damen Shipyards Group and its divisions and endorsed brands. It's an exciting time to join the Marketing team. New digital capabilities are expanding the possibilities of marketing campaigns in the B2B industry. As an intern for the Event Management team, you can play a role in expanding Damen as a brand within the industry and beyond.

The role

You will assist the Event Managers in organizing events in the dynamic world of shipbuilding. During the internship you will be planning, organizing, managing and coordinating all types of events, such as international conferences and exhibitions. You will make sure Damen’s brand identity is well presented during every event. We are looking for a student that is able to take on this project from August or September 2026 onwards.

Key accountabilities

• Plan, organize, manage and coordinate different types of events.
• Research new event and exhibition possibilities and work on Damen’s event strategy.
• Update the design for event pages based on your findings.
• Work closely with the event managers, who will provide supervision and support.
• Support administrative tasks and other ongoing activities at the Marketing Communications department.

Skills & experience

At least several skills/experiences from the following list are required to be considered:

• You are a Bachelor student, enrolled in an event management or communication study.
• You are social, representative and creative.
• Flexible and hands on mentality.
• Expert in planning and organizing.
• English and Dutch language skills are mandatory.
• Do not speak Dutch? Unfortunately we cannot take your profile into consideration.
