JBT Marel is a leading global provider of high-tech solutions for customers worldwide in the food and beverage industries.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Technical Writer who will play a key role across Marel Meat, with a strong focus on technical documentation and project documentation.

As a Technical Writer at JBT Marel, you are responsible for creating, maintaining, and structuring technical documentation for machines and systems that are part of our global product portfolio. Your work ensures that complex technology becomes accessible, safe, and understandable for customers and internal stakeholders worldwide.

You will work from our Lichtenvoorde office and collaborate closely with engineers, product experts, and project teams. The documentation you create will support both existing equipment and innovative new developments, and will be essential throughout the entire Product Development Process (PDP).

We are currently in the transition from documents in Microsoft Word to Madcap Flare, a sophisticated software application for Technical Writers.

🔍 About the Role

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as user manuals, technical data, spare parts documentation, and EC declarations
• Translating complex technical operations into clear, readable texts and instructive illustrations, with strong attention to CE regulations
• Collecting and structuring content using multiple sources, including 3D models, videos, photos, and input from subject matter experts
• Creating and managing 2D and 3D illustrations for manuals, layouts, and other technical documents
• Organizing, maintaining, and publishing documentation libraries
• Processing and managing documentation within PDM and content management systems
• Actively participating in the Product Development Process (PDP) with a focus on documentation quality and compliance
• Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and motivating product experts to share their knowledge
• Developing and maintaining templates, standards, and reusable building blocks

Nice to have:

• Experience with Solidworks composer and MadCap Flare
• Familiarity with the use of authoring and publishing tools

🎓 Education, Knowledge & Experience

• A Bachelor in Engineering, English, or another relevant field – or equivalent practical experience
• Knowledge of the Machinery Directive and ISO 20607
• Experience with 2D and 3D illustration software
• Experience with authoring, publishing, and content management tools
• Understanding of the operational and technical aspects of food processing machinery is a strong advantage
