A Day in the Life

If so, this Project Manager role within Medtronic Articulating Technologies could be your next career move.

You will lead complex, outsourced equipment development projects from early concept through final delivery. Your mission is to enable state-of-the-art, highly automated medical device manufacturing and assembly lines that meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

In this senior role, you will be accountable for project success across scope, timeline, budget, and technical requirements. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, and commercial strategy, partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. This role is ideal for a seasoned project manager who thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and brings strong leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Translate stakeholder design inputs into equipment requirements in close collaboration with subject matter experts, ensuring delivered equipment meets technical specifications, quality standards, and operational and budget requirements, while coordinating with receiving sites to support successful installation.
  • Lead end-to-end management of outsourced equipment development projects, ensuring delivery against scope, timeline, and budget by defining project plans, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies, and monitoring progress to proactively resolve issues.
  • Work closely with external equipment development service providers to oversee equipment design, development, and build processes, ensuring clear communication of requirements, expectations, and deliverables while driving accountability and performance across the supply chain.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for equipment development initiatives, engaging and aligning internal stakeholders—including product and manufacturing process development R&D engineers, operations, procurement, and receiving sites—on technical specifications, quality standards, and operational and budget requirements.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Apply strong commercial acumen to manage budgets, contracts, and cost optimization, while building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, partners, and internal teams, and supporting sourcing decisions and supplier selection processes.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, stakeholders, and partners to reach mutually beneficial agreements, influencing decision-making to ensure project success and alignment with organizational goals, while resolving conflicts and driving consensus across diverse teams.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or related fields.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects or programs involving outsourced equipment or manufacturing.
  • Strong track record in supplier management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.
  • Mastering the Dutch and English language.
