How you can make your mark

The commercial coordinator is responsible for analysing market data, performing and coordinating sales-related activities, and deputising the Commercial Manager. This includes generating market and competitor insights to support intelligence-led decision making and coordinating inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders, as well as supporting the preparation and negotiation of proposals.

You will work with the broader commercial team to help establish and maintain relationships with present and future clients, third parties and internal stakeholders.

Imagine being the person responsible for first contact with an opportunity which grows into a ‘one of a kind’ project executed by your colleagues in the operations team and featured in the media!

Your responsibilities as commercial coordinator:

  • Support the commercial department in its tendering activities by consulting with colleagues across the commercial, technical, legal, organizational, administrative and operational disciplines at various levels.
  • Produce relevant market, competitor and administrative information for developing commercial and/or business development plans.
  • Gather pre-qualification and/or tender information from internal and external sources and support the preparation of proposals as part of a tender team.
  • Maintain data and document registration in internal and customer online portals and/or digital information systems.
  • Ensure the timely availability of requested information and data, and in case of any deviation, inform the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain contact with clients and third parties as a deputy to the Commercial Manager during pre-qualification, tender and commercial processes.

Your qualities

You can move ahead as commercial coordinator if you:

  • Are degree qualified, preferably in Engineering, Business or Law.
  • Have excellent English communication skills – IELTS 8+ or equivalent.
  • Have 2-3 years of prior working experience in a relevant setting.
  • Are naturally curious and want to understand your own tasks and how and why they feed into broader commercial objectives, with a constant drive to improve.
  • See connections that others miss and can distill them into meaningful information and actions.
  • Have an eye for detail whilst appreciating the importance of understanding the bigger picture.
  • Have an open, optimistic and collaborative mindset.
  • Understand and can navigate cultural and business practice differences, creating meaningful connections with global partners.
  • Are fluent with digital systems and can use and develop tools to achieve complex tasks efficiently, including standard MS Office, CRM systems and AI.
  • Are a team player able to communicate verbally, in writing and through presentations at all levels of the organisation and to customers.
  • Are resilient, realising that not every proposal will be successful.
  • Are willing to travel occasionally.
  • Have the right to work in the UK or EU, as applicable.
