How you can make a difference

As Manager HRBP EU, you will advise and support the management of an allocated business unit on a range of HR matters, while implementing HR policy and the annual plan to help achieve organizational objectives through sufficient staffing and an efficient organization. You will focus on strengthening the quality of line managers in their responsibilities as integral managers for their employee groups.

About Ahold Delhaize

We’re Ahold Delhaize, one of the world’s largest food retail groups. Together with our seventeen strong local retail brands in Europe, the United States, and Indonesia, we share a passion for delivering great food, value and innovation. By bringing ideas to the table and acting on them, you help create a healthier tomorrow.

Your new team

As Manager HRBP EU, you will be part of a strategic, business-driven HR environment where you will actively contribute to achieving business objectives through a structured annual HR plan and tailored advice. You will partner closely with managers, guiding them in implementing HR policies and strengthening their leadership capabilities to ensure consistent and effective people management.

The focus will be on identifying workforce and organizational gaps, ensuring the right talent is recruited, developed, and retained in line with company principles. You will also play a key role in employee relations, supporting constructive dialogue with employee representatives while safeguarding compliance and collaboration.

Additionally, you will contribute to change management initiatives that enhance engagement and minimize resistance, ensure reliable HR data and sound organizational design, and coach managers to grow into strong leaders capable of driving performance and sustainable business success.

Key focus area of your role

As a key leader within the EU HR team, you will build strong relationships with stakeholders across various regions and help ensure the long-term success of platform integrations. Your key responsibilities include:

Business partner advise

  • Address relevant themes and place these on the agenda through the HR perspective and knowledge of target audiences, business and corporate processes.
  • Participate in consultation within allocated business unit(s), work with line managers to ensure results are achieved, and provide input to strategic HR projects.
  • Translate the overarching HR annual plan to your business area, ensure its implementation and achievement, and coordinate the application of products, services and people to meet annual plan objectives.

Business partner implementation

  • Advise and support management, both on request and on your own initiative, regarding implementation of HR policy and processes within the allocated business unit, involving HR specialists where necessary.
  • Provide input into the effectiveness and quality of the HR portfolio and consistently apply HR instruments.

Strategic workforce planning

  • Ensure the planning, organization and succession of joiners, movers and leavers within allocated business areas and support long-term workforce and recruitment planning.
  • Contribute to career development and coaching of employees through guidance and support to line management.
  • Contribute to appropriate employee appraisal and the application of the performance management process and associated tools.

Employee relations

  • Maintain a visible presence in work areas to stay familiar with situations and issues being discussed and review performance evaluations of employees.
  • Investigate issues such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, employee and applicant appeals, and grievances, and provide guidance and recommendations for resolution.
  • Recommend hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, and commendatory actions for assigned personnel.

Change management

  • Apply a structured change management approach and methodology for change caused by projects and change efforts.
  • Develop a change management strategy based on situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups impacted.
  • Identify potential risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop plans to mitigate or address concerns.
  • Set up, coordinate and evaluate implementation of organizational redesigns.

Organizational design

  • Supervise continuous updates of organizational data in HR systems.
  • Monitor and assess the need for organizational redesign, draw up descriptions, and set up, coordinate and evaluate implementation of redesigns.
