Turn fragmented partner workflows into experiences that just make sense

At bol, over 47,000 platform partners bring more than 35 million products to life for 13.7 million customers. Behind every product listing, every promotion, and every branded storefront, there’s a B2B experience that either helps partners thrive or gets in their way. As a Medior Product Designer on the Partner Journey team, you make sure thriving is the name of the game. You design the tools, flows, and interfaces that make a positive difference. You’ll focus specifically on Assortment Management, Promotions, and Brand Experiences for Retailer 1, bol’s first-party retail organization that supports over 1,000 suppliers from ambitious start-ups to household names.

How do you make our customers happy?

Making the complex simple. Our partners range from small sellers managing a handful of products to large brands overseeing tens of thousands. They use bol to manage their assortment, pricing, promotions, and brand presence.

The biggest challenge

Currently, these closely related topics feel like separate workflows. Different partner types encounter different setups, tools, and levels of automation. And small changes can have an outsized impact on business at this scale. Your challenge: to turn these fragmented processes into coherent, intuitive journeys that just work for all of our partners. That calls for a deep understanding of how content, pricing, logistics, and promotions intersect—and designing experiences where that intersection feels logical rather than overwhelming.

What you'll do as a Medior Product Designer

You’ll work across two product teams – Promotions and Brand Experiences – within the broader Partner Journey design community. You’ll operate independently while also contributing as a design multiplier across teams, reinforcing consistency and elevating craft quality. You’ll collaborate daily with Product Managers, Engineers, Analysts, and Operations specialists.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Translate problem spaces into clear information architectures, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Conduct user research for moderately complex initiatives: interviews, usability tests, journey mapping, and data exploration
  • Synthesize research insights into concrete opportunities that help teams prioritize initiatives
  • Validate assumptions through prototypes, experiments, and close collaboration with PMs and analysts
  • Explore how AI and automation can streamline partner workflows; from predictive suggestions to guided actions and automated data improvements
  • Create reusable patterns and maintain alignment with the design system to improve coherence across the entire Partner Journey environment
  • Identify where partner journeys overlap across content, operations, logistics, and pricing, and find opportunities for harmonization
  • Document behaviors, states, and edge cases that clarify complex systems for the wider team
  • Share your work regularly, seek feedback, and contribute to improving design patterns, processes, and the culture

Why you can make a difference

You have 4 to 7 years of product design experience, ideally in B2B platforms or complex multi-faceted ecosystems. You know that great designs foster trust. And that trust at scale requires more than polished interfaces. You combine strong UX skills with business acumen: you understand the commercial context in which your designs operate and make informed trade-offs that serve both the partner experience and platform goals. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and ask the sharp questions that cut through complexity before pixels are placed. You think in terms of systems, not individual screens, and know that a small change in one flow can substantially impact several others. You communicate your design rationale clearly to engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, each with their own vocabulary and priorities. And you thrive in a collaborative environment where feedback is a source of fuel rather than friction.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

  • - Pixel perfectionist You'd rather spend a morning refining drop-shadows than tackling a service design challenge that spans three product teams.
  • - Meeting minimalist Cross-functional collaboration feels like overhead. You believe soloists ship faster and live fuller lives.
  • - Attic artist Design critique is always extremely personal. If you were an artist, you’d hide away in an attic, never subjecting your masterpieces to public scrutiny.
  • + Systems thinker You design solutions that work across the entire ecosystem, not just on a single screen.
  • + Bridge builder You thrive at the intersection of user needs and technical constraints, finding elegant solutions where others are stuck in damage-mitigation mode.
  • + Trust cultivator You understand that every interaction impacts a partner's confidence in bol. A confusing workflow isn't just bad UX, it's a business risk you’re not willing to take.

Here's where you'll land

You’ll join the Partner Journey team, collaborating with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Product Managers, fellow Product Designers, and Engineers. As a member of the Partner Journey Design Community, you’ll co-shape how we approach complex design challenges across partner experiences. The environment combines professionalism with approachability. We take our craft seriously but believe the best solutions emerge through experimentation, iteration, and the occasional productive mistake. With 2,900 colleagues serving 13.7 million customers through 47,000 partners, your designs directly shape how thousands of businesses grow on bol’s platform.

We bring the best of both worlds together by working 50% at the office and 50% at home. This way, we find a balance between organisational and individual needs.
