You are an enthusiastic engineering graduate who wants to start a career in machine and system safety. You don’t need years of experience, what matters is your curiosity, motivation to learn, and willingness to take ownership.

You bring:

  • A completed BSc or MSc in a technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering).

  • Affinity with occupational safety or compliance topics.

Your responsibilities

As a Junior Machine Safety Engineer, you will grow into a role where you support and advise project teams across the entire system lifecycle—from tender and design through installation, commissioning, operation, and service.

You will:

  • Contribute to building and maintaining a safety-first culture within projects.

  • Support risk assessments and learn how to identify design safety uncertainties.

  • Provide input on solutions that balance compliance, safety, and project impact.

  • Participate in design reviews, audits, and technical assessments.

  • Support site inspections to understand how systems operate in real airport environments.

  • Help ensure compliance with machinery safety legislation and relevant standards.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project team, for example mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers.

  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement activities within the Design Safety team.

Throughout your journey, you will receive training, coaching, and opportunities to further specialize toward CMSE (Certified Machine Safety Expert).

Your department

You will join the Airport Engineering team located in Veghel, The Netherlands, supporting projects across the EMEA LATAM region (Europe, Middle East, Africa & Latin America).
