Jij hebt impact

Bij DNB werk je met impact op financiële stabiliteit en duurzame welvaart. Al vanaf de eerste dag van deze unieke stage. Met jouw speciale talent voor cijfermatige patronen en trends help jij bewegingen begrijpen en (beter) voorspellen. Bijvoorbeeld als het gaat om de prijzen op de woningmarkt, inflatie, financieel-economische statistieken, het betalingsverkeer, distributed ledger technology, of de verhoudingen op de arbeidsmarkt. Dit doe je niet alleen, maar samen met een groep stagiaires binnen de centrale bank die op dezelfde dag starten.

You will have an impact

At DNB your work will have an impact on financial stability and sustainable prosperity, right from the first day of this unique internship. With your special talent for numerical patterns and trends, you can help understand movements and improve forecasting. For example, when it comes to housing market prices, inflation, financial-economic statistics, payments, distributed ledger technology or labour market relations. You will not do this alone, but together with a group of central bank interns who start on the same day.

We hebben twee soorten stages voor je. Bij een meewerkstage ga je volwaardig aan de slag met een project of actueel onderwerp. Ook bij een afstudeerstage denk je na over economische vraagstukken. Daarbij betekent jouw scriptie een waardevolle bijdrage aan onze dagelijkse werkzaamheden.

This is what you will be doing as an intern at DNB

As a central bank, we are committed to social relevance, data-driven insights and technological innovation. We offer our staff members opportunities for flexibility and personal development. We have two types of internships from which you can choose. In a traditional internship, you will collaborate as a staff member in a project or current topic. In a graduation project internship, you will consider economic issues. Your thesis will make a valuable contribution to our day-to-day activities.

Wat ga je verder nog doen?

• Je doet ervaring op in een unieke en onafhankelijke omgeving, midden in de huidige economische en financiële actualiteit.
• Je gaat aan de slag met granulaire data, econometrische modellen, data science & machine learning, MLOps en/of graph analytics.
• Je krijgt de kans om te onderzoeken waar je interesses liggen. Van analyses over de economische risico’s van het geopolitieke klimaat tot de financiële impact van klimaatverandering en natuurverlies. En van vervanging van een applicatie die ook door andere Centrale Banken in het Europese stelsel wordt gebruikt tot bescherming tegen cyberbedreigingen. Of wat dacht je van het opstellen van kerncijfers van de Nederlandse economie?
• Je leert vaardigheden waar je de rest van je professionele en persoonlijke leven veel aan hebt, van overtuigend presenteren tot je positie bepalen in multidisciplinaire overleggen.
• Je verrijkt je cv met een organisatie van internationale statuur.

What else will you be doing?

• You will gain experience in a unique and independent environment, in the heart of today’s financial and economic world.
• You will work with granular data, econometric models, data science & machine learning, MLOps and/or graph analytics.
• You will get to explore your areas of interest. From analyses of the economic risks of the geopolitical environment to the financial impact of climate change and nature loss; from replacing an application also used by other central banks in the Eurosystem to protecting us against cyberthreats; or compiling key figures of the Dutch economy.
• You will learn skills that will benefit you for the rest of your professional and personal life, from giving persuasive presentations to defining your position in multidisciplinary meetings.
• You will enrich your CV by working for an organisation of international stature.

Hier doe je dat

Het stageprogramma omvat drie profielen: (Macro)economie & monetaire economie, Data & tech, en Financiële stabiliteit & financiële markten. Samen met je mede-stagairs doorloop je een introductieprogramma en kick-off en wissel je ervaringen uit. Zo zorgen we ervoor dat je snel je plek weet te vinden binnen de organisatie. Ons nieuwe kantoor in Amsterdam is onze thuisbasis, de plek waar we elkaar ontmoeten, kennis delen en (samen)werken. Je zal minstens de helft van de week op kantoor zijn, en verder is er voldoende ruimte en vrijheid om een werkplek en -tijd te kiezen die goed bij jou past. De meeste collega’s kiezen ervoor om twee tot vier dagen per week op kantoor te zijn. En natuurlijk zorgen we dat je ook thuis uitstekend kunt werken met een laptop van DNB.

This is where you will be working

The internship programme includes three profiles: (Macro)economics & monetary economics, Data & tech, and financial stability & financial markets. Together with your fellow interns, you'll go through an introduction programme and kick-off, and you'll exchange experiences. This way, we will make sure you quickly find your place in our organisation. Our new Amsterdam office is our home base, the place where we meet, share knowledge and work together. You will be in the office at least half of your working week, and we offer you sufficient flexibility to choose other workplaces and times that suit you. Most colleagues choose to be in the office between two and four days a week. It goes without saying that we facilitate remote working by providing you with a laptop.

Waar zijn we verder nog naar op zoek?

• Jij bent een masterstudent data science, kunstmatige intelligentie, informatica, econometrie of een andere kwantitatieve studie (inschrijving bij een onderwijsinstelling is verplicht).
• Je hebt ervaring met Python of R.
• Je beschikt over uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden. Je kunt de stage in het Nederlands of Engels doen. Een goede beheersing van het Engels in spreek- en schrijftaal is vereist.
• Je bent vanaf 1 september 2026 beschikbaar voor een periode van vier tot zes maanden.

This is what we need from you

• You are excited and ready to make a positive difference in society in your own way with enough challenge to test your true capabilities. Your ideal internship combines learning with real-world accomplishments.
• You are a Master's student in data science, artificial intelligence, computer science, econometrics or another quantitative subject. You must be registered at an educational institution.
• You have experience with Python or R.
• You have excellent communication skills. You can complete the internship either in Dutch or in English. You possess good speaking and writing skills in English.
• You are available from 1 September 2026 for a period of four to six months.

• Een laptop.
• Je kunt je aansluiten bij JongDNB, de vereniging voor en door jonge medewerkers van DNB. JongDNB verzorgt inhoudelijke en sociale activiteiten, denk aan studiereizen, lunchseminars en maandelijkse borrels. Een geweldige manier om een netwerk op te bouwen binnen DNB waar je ook later in je professionele carrière nog veel plezier van zult hebben!
