Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team working on innovative software products for the Food Industry. In the role of a Senior Software Engineer, you will have a key role in the development of our software that supports JBT Marel‘s vision of transforming the way food is processed globally.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of software modules that support JBT-Marel’s vision. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including machine engineering and software platform development teams, to deliver robust and scalable solutions for industrial food processing machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design, implementation, and testing of software modules and features.

  • Analyze requirements and write design specifications for software modules and software features.

  • Deliver production-ready code consistently.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team collaboration.

  • Collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure system architecture is implemented and tested.

  • Occasionally support product releases and training on customer sites.

  • Train and mentor Software Engineers and Associate Software Engineers.

  • Contribute to team collaboration and build team spirit.

What kind of person are you?

  • Bachelor’s or Master‘s degree in computer science or similar, or comparable work experience and knowledge.

  • Background in industrial automation or machine control.

  • Understanding of reliability requirements in the food industry.

  • Experience with .NET and Docker.

  • Basic knowledge of Linux and familiarity with PLCs.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing large software solutions with object-oriented programming languages, in combination with .NET software development.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and good understanding of database operations.

  • Familiar with Agile software development frameworks and database operations.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, stakeholders, and customers.

  • Experience with and comfort working in multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage.

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
