Job Summary
We are seeking a Customer Project Manager (CPM) to lead the delivery of complex, customer‑facing managed service projects within a cloud and hosting environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer success by combining strong project management discipline, industry knowledge, and clear communication.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in the IT / cloud / hosting / data centre industry, enjoys working directly with customers, and thrives in a fast‑paced, delivery‑driven environment.
What You’ll Do
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead multiple complex customer projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on time and within agreed scope
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, resources, and risk mitigation strategies
- Track progress, manage changes, and take corrective action to ensure successful outcomes
Customer Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead regular customer status meetings, providing clear updates and addressing risks or concerns
- Partner with customers to define requirements, priorities, and delivery outcomes
Technical & Industry Collaboration
- Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure solutions are delivered according to agreed designs
- Apply industry knowledge of cloud, hosting, networking, and virtualization to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Translate technical concepts into clear, customer‑friendly language
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, and service delivery
- Support effective collaboration, accountability, and information flow across stakeholders
Risk, Quality & Reporting
- Identify project risks early and implement mitigation plans
- Produce clear project reporting, including KPIs, milestones, and delivery status
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, meeting notes, and change requests
Required Qualifications & Experience
Industry & Role Experience
- Experience managing projects within a relevant technical industry, such as cloud services, hosting / managed services, data centres, IT infrastructure, or telecommunications
- Proven experience in customer‑facing project delivery
- Working knowledge of cloud, hosting, networking, and/or virtualization environments
Core Skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer‑focused, detail‑oriented, and solutions‑driven mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast‑changing, operational environment
Language
- Fluent in Dutch and English (additional languages are an advantage)
Tools & Systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience using project tracking or service tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Siebel or similar)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience specifically aligned to Equinix products or similar providers
- Formal project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile)
- Experience working with global or enterprise customers
