Connect the dots in complex international cases as a Medior CDD Analyst

How do you make our customers happy?

By ensuring bol becomes and remains a fully compliant financial service provider – even when cases get complicated. As a mid-level CDD Analyst, you handle more complex CDD cases including transaction monitoring alerts and investigations as part of ongoing due diligence. Think international partners (EU and non-EU), high-risk cases, and Event Driven Reviews. You draw connections between information in Duna, public sources, and internal systems, detect unusual patterns, and translate insights into mitigating actions. In doing so, you protect 13.7 million customers and 47,000 partners against financial economic crime, while ensuring bol’s licensed entities comply with DNB, AFM, and FSMA regulations.

The biggest challenge

Assessing complex risks, including the investigation of transaction monitoring alerts and behavioral anomalies, and conducting investigations autonomously. You liaise with New Business Developers to gather the necessary information from international partners. That requires a talent for formulating targeted questions and engaging colleagues. For example, in the event of adverse news, sanctions hits, or unusual transaction patterns, you liaise directly with Compliance. You conduct integrated risk assessments, have the confidence to determine when a case file is sufficiently complete, and know how to mitigate risks proportionally.

What you'll do as a Medior CDD Analyst

You’ll work within the CDD team that performs Client Due Diligence for bol’s financial services (bfs). You’ll report to the Manager of CDD Operations and work closely with junior and senior analysts, Quality Reviewers, and Compliance.

In this role, you’ll manage cases that require considerable expertise. You’ll analyze international partners from EU and non-EU regions (think China, Hong Kong, the UK), conduct Event Driven Reviews, investigate transaction monitoring alerts, and assess high-risk cases. You’ll draw connections between data from Duna, transaction flows, internal systems, and external sources, recognize patterns, and share those insights within the team. You’ll proactively engage with NBD colleagues and with Compliance in the event of escalations. You’ll also train junior colleagues how to do their job, answer their questions, and share patterns and insights in team knowledge sessions. You are both a subject-matter expert and an informal go-to person. Your key responsibilities:

  • Manage complex CDD cases, including international partners, high-risk cases, Event Driven Reviews, and transaction monitoring investigations
  • Analyze and connect data from Duna, transaction data, internal systems, and external sources
  • Formulate targeted information requests to New Business Development
  • Assess screening outcomes (adverse media and sanctions) and engage with Compliance
  • Conduct integrated risk assessments and determine appropriate measures
  • Recognize patterns and share insights in team knowledge sessions
  • Support junior analysts, contribute to process improvements and work instructions

Why you can make a difference

You combine approximately 5 years of CDD experience with the ability to manage complex cases autonomously. You know the Wwft, understand risk, and know when to escalate. You have a keen analytical mind and easily draw connections between diverse data sources, including transactional behavior. Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring and alert handling is required, as this role combines customer due diligence with ongoing monitoring responsibilities. You recognize patterns where others see only noise. You formulate sharp questions and collaborate effectively to obtain the information you need. You also enjoy sharing knowledge and insights, including with less experienced colleagues. Experience with international partners or in a licensed environment is welcome!

To hit the ground running, it’s important that you already have transaction monitoring experience. And if your fortune cookie also contains Chinese (Mandarin) language skills, even better!

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

Not for you if

  • Production focus: You’d rather focus on processing volume than diving into complex cases.
  • Silo dweller: Supporting colleagues and leading knowledge sessions takes energy you'd rather devote to cases.
  • Escalation escapist: Escalate? You'd rather find your own way out, no matter how complex the maze.

For you if

  • Pattern spotter: You see connections between data sources that others overlook and translate them into concrete actions.
  • Information hunter: You don't sit back and wait for information; you formulate the right questions and mobilize colleagues.
  • Informal mentor: Junior colleagues are always welcome to ask questions; knowledge exists to be imparted.

Here's where you'll land

You’ll join the CDD team within bol’s FinTech organization, performing Client Due Diligence for bol’s financial services. You’ll report to the Manager of CDD Operations and work alongside junior and senior analysts, Quality Reviewers, and Compliance. The team is building a completely new CDD capability from 2026 onward – so you’ll be there from the very beginning. The atmosphere is professional and results-driven: we focus on compliance functions that enable innovation, and never block it. Growth opportunities toward Quality Reviewer, Compliance, or specialist roles are realistic, especially given the planned scale-up to 25–40 team members within two years.
