The Field Service Engineer is primarily responsible for maintaining a professional and profitable repair and preventive maintenance service business on Stryker’s products while ensuring compliance with the quality system and manufacturer specifications. The role delivers technical assistance at customer sites and provides documentation to internal and external customers.

Essential duties & responsibilities

  • Repair and check electronic / mechanical Stryker products.
  • Complete annual check and calibration according to MDR on customer site.
  • Utilize software and technological tools to maintain proper records and access technical information.
  • Assist the regulatory affairs department / customer to action product recalls, field safety notices and field action notices.
  • Fulfil service contracts with planned maintenances.
  • Deliver technical training to internal & external customers.
  • Perform installation of Stryker systems on customer site.
  • Perform software & hardware upgrades.
  • Ensure efficient and thorough documentation of service activities for internal and external reference.
  • Ensure traceability of all field-based Stryker products through reporting tools.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Escalate opportunities and issues in appropriate team meetings.
  • Ensure excellent follow-up on all customer-initiated issues.
  • Ensure service provided is invoiced if not under warranty.
  • Schedule customer visits in cooperation with customer service.
  • Required to lift equipment up to 20 kg.

Your profile

  • Educated to degree level in engineering electronics and camera technology or equivalent, at least one of the following: Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications / Mechanical / Software; Medical Physics.
  • Up to 1 year experience in medical electronics, combined with good mechanical skills (preferred).
  • Up to 1 year experience in the hospital environment and health care work (preferred).
  • IT experience on administrative and technical level.
  • Valid Dutch drivers license.
  • Experience and ability to build relationship with internal & external customers to drive brand loyalty.
  • Must be capable of working in a varied range of scenarios including the workshop, hospitals, and theatres.

Your skills

  • Fluency in both spoken and written (technical and medical) English and Dutch.
  • Adequate IT-knowledge (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, MFG/Pro, PS3, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage stress.
  • Unwavering ethics & integrity in a competitive and demanding work environment.
  • Service- and quality-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to think independently, use sound judgment, prioritize, make quick decisions and problem-solve.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team on assignments.

Travels will be a regular occurrence within the Utrecht Central region
