What are you going to do?

Our best scenario is when support becomes obsolete, because we are able to prevent issues and make sure everything works before it goes live. – Michel Florijn (Team Captain)

At Nedap in retail, you work with global brands such as H&M, G-Star RAW, Under Armour, and River Island. With our Inventory Engine, smart in-store hardware, and cloud-based software, we give retailers real-time insight into their stock and store operations. This ensures products are always available and store staff can focus on what truly matters: helping customers.

Making this work at a global scale requires more than good technology. It requires technology that works flawlessly before it reaches the field.

In this role as a Technical Operations Specialist, you ensure our solutions are reliable, scalable, and ready for deployment. By testing, documenting, providing training to our partners and clients, and continuously improving, you enable smooth implementations and performance worldwide. If support is needed, you are there to provide the solution. You operate at the intersection of technology and real-world application, connecting hardware, firmware, cloud, and integrations with R&D, partners, and customers.

Your stakeholders: international customers and business partners, R&D, Product Management, and Sales.

Your responsibilities

Testing

Perform structured testing on hardware, firmware, and cloud solutions

Documentation

Create and maintain technical documentation (e.g. Confluence, partner portal)

Firmware

Test and guide firmware releases and clearly communicate updates to partners

Feedback

Translate insights from testing and real-world usage into improvements for R&D

Supporting partners

Support partners and customers with complex technical challenges

Training

Develop and deliver training sessions (international and occasionally on-site)

Your team

You’ll join the TechOps team, consisting of four colleagues in the Netherlands and team members in the US and Asia. Together, you ensure our solutions are deployed consistently and successfully across the globe.

Everyone brings their own expertise, but collaboration and knowledge sharing are key. You’ll work closely with R&D and partners to make sure technology not only works in theory, but also in practice.

What's in it for you?

We believe our people perform at their best in an environment that both supports and challenges them. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to succeed in your role. In addition to strong employment conditions, we offer you the freedom to organize your time in a way that works best for you.

At the same time, we are a forward-thinking organization that continuously innovates, for example in the field of AI. You’ll have the opportunity to grow alongside new developments and technologies, and to keep developing yourself in an environment that embraces change.

  • a key role in enabling successful global retail technology deployments, while you work at the intersection of hardware, software, and real-world application;
  • a high degree of autonomy in how you organize your work;
  • Given that our people are the basis for our success, we are more than happy to invest in your development. We do not have a fixed development budget. Besides following our extensive onboarding program, you will enter a personal development process that will see us assess your potential together and explore ways to get the most out of your potential.

Required skills

With your structured way of working, you help maintain clarity and enable continuous improvement. You enjoy collaborating and contribute to capturing and refining insights that directly enhance our products and processes. At the same time, you operate in an environment that actively embraces the latest technologies, where your enthusiasm helps us stay ahead in developments such as AI.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience, for example as an Implementation Manager or Product Owner (preferably in retail)
  • Experience with basic programming, such as Python, JavaScript, or a similar language, potentially supported by AI
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion
  • Strong communication skills: able to express yourself clearly in both Dutch and English
  • Analytical mindset: skilled in understanding and solving technical challenges
  • Passion for technology: knowledge of and interest in software (such as APIs and integrations), hardware, firmware, and AI
