Build real solutions that keep Eneco’s operations running — every day

  • Work directly with end users to solve real operational challenges

  • Deliver end-to-end data and application solutions with immediate business impact

Why choose Eneco?

At Eneco, we’re accelerating the energy transition through our One Planet Plan, with the ambition to become CO₂-neutral by 2035. Data plays a crucial role in achieving this goal. As a Full Stack Data Engineer in the Finance & Data Operations (FDO) team, you work at the heart of Eneco’s operational and financial processes. You don’t operate in isolation — you collaborate closely with business users, sit within workflows, and build solutions that directly improve how the organization runs. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where engineering craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous improvement are key. Together, we build reliable, scalable solutions that strengthen Eneco’s operational excellence and support a sustainable future.

What you’ll do

As a Full Stack Data Engineer, you develop data products and lightweight applications that directly support Eneco’s operational and financial workflows. You design and build robust data pipelines using modern cloud technologies such as Databricks and Snowflake, while continuously improving engineering standards through CI/CD, testing, and documentation. Beyond data engineering, you work closely with operational teams to understand real-life processes and translate them into practical solutions. This can range from improving data models and pipelines to building small internal applications (e.g., Streamlit apps) or fixing workflow inefficiencies that remove manual work and reduce errors. You take ownership of business-critical data flows, ensuring reliability and performance, while contributing to a culture of collaboration, code quality, and knowledge sharing.

Is this about you?

Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply if you’re excited about the role and believe you can contribute

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, Power BI)
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, governance, data quality, and documentation
  • Familiarity with engineering best practices (CI/CD, version control, testing, DTAP)
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines (ELT/ETL)
  • Interest in or experience with lightweight application development (e.g. Streamlit, internal tools)
  • Ability to translate work into business outcomes and user value
  • Strong ownership, pragmatic mindset, and clear communication skills
  • Affinity with finance, back-office processes, or the energy sector is a plus
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude, Cursor)

You’ll be responsible for

  • Develop and maintain reliable, scalable data products supporting operational and financial processes
  • Build and improve data pipelines within a modern cloud data stack
  • Translate operational challenges into data-driven solutions that reduce friction and manual work
  • Support, monitor, and troubleshoot business-critical data flows
  • Design and maintain lightweight internal applications that enhance user workflows
  • Collaborate closely with business, application, and platform teams
  • Write high-quality, well-documented code and contribute to code reviews and best practices
  • Continuously improve engineering standards and ways of working

This is where you’ll work

You’ll join Trade FDO, a multidisciplinary team within Eneco Energy Trade that supports finance and operational departments such as back office, settlement, and account support. The team focuses on delivering high-quality data products that enable reporting, decision-making, and efficient daily operations. We work in short iterations, prioritize fast value delivery, and collaborate closely with end users to ensure our solutions truly make a difference. Your work will directly impact areas such as certificate management, settlement flows, master data (contracts, business partners, assets), and internal tools that replace manual processes — ensuring stability and scalability of Eneco’s operational data chains.
