As a Medior Machine Learning Engineer at Albert Heijn Technology, you will be part of our ambitious Data Science & Analytics team. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Product Owners, businesses, and technology stakeholders. Together you will deliver scalable and robust Data Science products that improve the omni-channel customer journey for millions of Albert Heijn customers. For example, improving the personal bonus offers within the Mijn Bonus Box or suggesting the most suitable products during the online shopping journey using recommendation technologies.

You will use your Software Engineering skills and your interest in Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning methods for this role. You are a flexible, versatile Software Engineer who likes to help Data Scientists and Data Analysts develop and scale software independently while keeping production and operations in mind.

Our Digital Analytics and Data Science department consists of +/- 30 enthusiastic Analysts, Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers with different professional backgrounds and nationalities. Our team members are passionate, curious, and pragmatic, never afraid to get their hands dirty, always learning and adapting. As a medior MLE you understand the needs within the product you work on in terms of technical improvements but also actively contribute in discussion on how to maximize business impact.

As a Medior Machine Learning Engineer at AH Technology you will:

• Design, test and build scalable machine learning solutions in a multi-disciplinary team
• Communicate your solutions clearly to a technical audience
• Translate the requirements from stakeholders into a solution and proactively communicate about the progress of technical stories
• Contribute as part of a team with Data Scientists, Data Analysts and Product Owner

Profile:

At AH Technology, you will be working for one of the world's biggest retailers, and we know you are bursting with the ambition to keep up with us. You supplement this ambition with:

• 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, AI Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer
• Strong software development skills, able to write solid readable and testable code (Python, packaging, testing, CI/CD)
• Experience in rolling machine learning out in production (MLOps, model life cycle management, monitoring)
• Experience in maintaining and evolving an existing software project that already runs in production
• Solution design skills – you enjoy architecting and designing scalable solutions
• Excellent communication skills, you are a team player
• Experience with big data technology (e.g. Spark), writing queries and working with large datasets
• Experience in using containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and running web servers / services / APIs in production
• You are interested in analytics, machine learning, data science and experimentation
• Based in the Netherlands
