Purpose

  • As Category Buyer, you are responsible for the negotiation and contractualization of long-term agreements with Strategic Partners as identified in the Category strategy, with the main objective of increasing SBM competitiveness and security of supply.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Category Manager or Senior Category Buyer in the effective management strategic suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor’s financial data, load level, capacity and investment plans.
  • Perform market analysis.
  • Ensure that commercial agreements match projects and operations needs and bring benefits such as simplification, competitive prices, and manufacturing slots reservation.
  • Embark lesson learnt into vendor commercial improvement monitoring.
  • Deliver Frame Agreement as per defined contracting plan on target as defined in the Category Strategy.
  • Support the negotiation with suppliers for packages/services in your area, as required, using benchmark and cost breakdown models, bringing TCO parameters into the equation.
  • Support Project & Operations teams when the relationship with the vendor is at risk (e.g. dispute & claims resolution, manufacturing performance, slot allocation).
  • Measure the contracted savings from the implementation of the category strategy and other relevant SC KPIs for the category.
  • Measure, monitor and report KPIs as required.
  • On an ad-hoc basis, issue Purchase Orders for key scopes.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and market research.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Market knowledge for the targeted products.
  • Knowledge in Total Cost of Ownership methodology.
  • Understanding of cost breakdown models.
  • Good understanding of the products in your category in liaison with technical stakeholders.

SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis.
