Senior Cost Controller

Purpose

  • The purpose of a Senior Cost Controller is to supervise, manage and monitor overall project finances, ensuring projects stay within budget for the whole project scope. (S)he ensures accurate financial reporting and analysis is delivered at various level of the project cost breakdown structure. This role supports project decisionmaking through effective cost control, risk assessment, and financial forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the overall cost control processes of projects.
  • Monitoring project budgets (including budget setups), forecasting future financial performance, analyzing variances, and ensuring that projects remain financially viable.
  • Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders, as well as constructively challenging them where required, to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project cost control, financial analysis, or a similar role. Experience in Oil & Gas and large infrastructure industries preferred.

SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle. The Company is market leading in leased floating production systems with multiple units currently in operation and has unrivalled operational experience in this field. The Company’s main activities are the design, supply, installation, operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels. These are either owned and operated by SBM Offshore and leased to its clients or supplied on a turnkey sale basis.
