Backend Engineer - Amsterdam

Do you want to make impact as a backend engineer at Studytube, inspiring everyone to work on their future? Studytube is looking for a backend engineer in Amsterdam to help build integrations for and with our clients. You’ll work closely with your colleagues in Amsterdam on the Integrations team.

What you will do

As a backend engineer in Amsterdam you will be the linking pin between Studytube and our clients. You will be responsible for integrations with clients’ HR systems and Studytube’s platform. An example of a recent adaptation is handling customers who don’t have emails (e.g., blue-collar workers) by introducing a new password flow for login and password recovery.

If you happen to have good and creative ideas for challenges, you are more than welcome to introduce yours. Each client is different and some integrations are more or less complex, depending on various things.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Build integrations with external systems.
• Work with large amounts of (historical) data to get clients live.
• Design, develop and maintain integrations with various external systems, mostly in the world of identity management.
• Keep enhancing the current platform with an eye on quality and efficiency.
• Closely cooperate with fellow engineers, product folks, and customer facing teams.

Job requirements

Who you are

• A solid software engineering background.
• Experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
• Good communication skills and empathy - while you won’t often interact with customers directly, understanding their needs is key.
• Someone who’s collaborative, but also confident making decisions on their own.
• You’re comfortable working with timelines and keeping things moving.
• You use AI tools to work smarter, not harder.
• Fluent English.

Security Clearance: This position involves work within highly regulated public sector environments. As such, candidates must be eligible for a high-level security screening (VGB Level B). To meet the criteria for this screening, Dutch nationality and a long-term residency history in the Netherlands are mandatory requirements.
