AI Lead Healthcare

AI is the path to a smarter, kinder and more resilient healthcare future. We are looking for a strategic and empowering AI Lead to shape and translate the Nedap Healthcare AI vision into reality and become an integral part of the Ons Suite & MediKIT. The position requires leadership of multidisciplinary teams, a collaborative and innovative mindset, and a focus on compliance. The goal is to create seamless, user-friendly AI innovations that transform what it means to work as a healthcare professional. Initially, the focus of the group will be on delivering the first AI applications for the Ons Suite & MediKIT. In the long run, the group will scale this approach and act as an expert enabler for teams that build and adopt AI in Nedap Healthcare solutions.

Your responsibilities

Vision and roadmap

You translate Nedap Healthcare's strategic objectives into a vision for the AI Group and, with its teams, refine this into a clear, actionable roadmap. You embed the AI roadmap into the strategic planning processes in Nedap Healthcare and make sure that the group is properly represented.

People and collaboration

Within the group, it is your responsibility to foster a culture of ambition, trust and ownership. You encourage and identify cooperation between teams whenever useful and ensure timely delivery of customer value. Teams are self-directed in their work to ensure progress and you play an empowering and supportive role. You promote and support cross-team collaboration to ensure a unified and coherent Ons Suite & MediKIT experience. You rather tackle issues up front than deal with them during escalations.

Innovation and architecture

You inspire colleagues, simplify complexity and tackle software architecture bottlenecks in order to make AI a natural part of product development and product design within Nedap Healthcare. You stay up to date with the evolution of AI and identify new opportunities.

Ecosystem and partnerships

You are the primary spokesperson for our AI strategy and vision, both internally and externally. In this capacity, you engage with customers, business partners, universities, research organisations and national healthcare bodies to shape the future of AI within healthcare.

Legal and compliance

As a group we are at the starting point to qualify for the MDR. The AI Group by essence is the frontrunner to embed a compliant way of working. You own the collaboration with Security and Compliance from our Dataprotection Team to achieve this qualification.

Your team

As an AI Lead, you will lead the AI group, which houses diverse disciplines such as developers, frontend engineers, UX specialists, data scientists, machine learning & NLP experts, data engineers, and data analysts. It has the following subteams that you will be responsible for:

• The AI Platform team provides an evolving catalog of generic AI services that makes the development of AI applications faster, more robust, and easier to govern.
• The Data Products team improves the Ons Suite UX in collaboration with other teams by leveraging usage and user data (e.g., via Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Process mining and Machine Learning).
• The Virtual Assistant team builds a workflow-based AI platform and products for the Ons Suite and beyond. Their mission is to automate any business workflow, including ones that involve human communication.

In addition, there are other AI and Data Science oriented teams. While functional decisions and prioritisation remain within those teams, you will collaborate closely with them, bringing in the expertise and way of working from the AI group. You are responsible for the technical quality that results from the collaboration. These teams are:

• Lumos supports Ons Suite users in finding the right information at the right time through AI, using their context (role, time, workflow). Their vision is to transform from conversational AI to Generative UI, where traditional interfaces become dynamic and context-driven rather than static.
• MediKIT Intelligence applies AI in our information system for general practitioners.

You will mentor your team members, while you yourself will report to the Head of Product Development, and become part of our tribe leads team (which includes, among others, the Dossier, the Integrations, and the Mobile tribe lead).

Required skills

You have a deep expertise in applied AI concepts, like auto-regressive generative deep learning architectures, machine learning evaluation metrics like precision, recall, harmonised mean, and natural language processing. You understand the limitations that AI brings along and anticipate long-term trends. You do not get dragged along with the hype. You bring along working knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects in healthcare and/or enterprise domains.
