This internship is for the Karl Lagerfeld Jeans team at the Amsterdam HQ.

The Role

As part of a growing team, you will be working closely together with the Karl Lagerfeld Jeans designers on the collection development of the Karl Lagerfeld Women’s and Men’s lines (products include all denim categories as well as jersey, woven, outerwear, knitwear etc.). A great opportunity to gain or develop experience across multiple product categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating technical sketches and tech packs to support the Senior Designer and Product Development team
  • Working on Seasonal Product Overviews/Mood Boards/Colour Boards/Fabric Boards under the guidance of the designers, ensuring all files are kept up-to-date, accurate and ready to present
  • Design Research (for example product, trend, colour and graphics)
  • Preparing and organizing proto and reference samples
  • Generally supporting the designers on day-to-day design tasks and helping to keep the collection organized at all times
  • Supporting the Product Development team to organizing and send samples that need returning

Profile

  • Must be officially enrolled at a university (HBO or MBO) level for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Must have a legal permit to work or study in the Netherlands (EU passport or Visa)
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop is a necessity
  • Strong interest in denim product or ‘denim lifestyle’
  • Comfortable working across women’s and men’s product ranges
  • Be up-to-date and passionate about the latest trends
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Flexible to adapt to changes in priorities
  • Organized with great time management
  • Positive "can-do" attitude is a must
