Tech Summer Internship

As a tech summer intern at Picnic, you’ll own an end-to-end project in a real production environment as an integral part of one of our teams. Your skills will be taken to the next level with the latest tech, and our diverse set of projects will keep you challenged and motivated. From optimizing large-scale vehicle routing with advanced solver technologies, to productionizing AI-driven quality gates in our release pipelines, you’ll work on problems that directly impact our operations. You might even find yourself building robust testing frameworks for automated warehouse systems, bridging the gap between software and real-world logistics.

This is a 2-month full-time position. Please note that this is not a thesis internship and EU citizenship is required.

Tricks of the trade

Drive: With a strong motivation to learn and improve, you’ll take ownership of a project while working closely with your colleagues to grow and develop your skills.

Contribution: You’ll learn how to design, test, and improve key aspects of our operations, with plenty of mentorship along the way. You’ll also have the opportunity to take ownership of a project, bringing both creativity and analytical thinking to the table.

Curiosity: You’re driven to explore and optimize systems, always eager to understand how each line of code contributes to the bigger picture and overall business goals.

Our Tech: a project for every taste and every stack!

• Backend: Java25, Python, Springboot, MongoDB
• ML: Python, LLM APIs (Claude, GPT)
• Frontend: Mobile Development, React Native

With a chance to get experience working with Solvers (such as Timefold), SQL, protocol buffers and other cutting edge tooling!

We’re looking for

• You just finished, or are about to finish your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• You have EU nationality (note that a Working Visa or University Visa is not sufficient for this Summer Internship).
• A collaborative mindset, ready to engage with the team and seek out new opportunities for improvement.
• Motivated to challenge the status quo and drive innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Your English skills are on point (no Dutch required).
