Introduction

If you travel through an airport, chances are that you will see some notion of Vanderlande at the check-in desk or arrival hall. As market leader in the Airports domain, Vanderlande is present at many of the main global airports.

Traditionally Vanderlande focuses on the transport, sortation and storage of bags. Recently Vanderlande is also offering solutions to automate the handler process with an increased level of automation in the ground handler process. This is where AGVs come into play to transport containers, robots are used to load bags into carts and containers, and vision and algorithms are used to make informed decisions.

What will you be doing?

As a Robotic Test Engineer, you are responsible for verifying and validating complex multidisciplinary products, which include mechanics, electronics and OT and IT software.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that focusses on the development of robotic loading applications in Airports. The scope of those developments is not limited to the robot only, but also concerns the processes around it. For example the transport of containers, the operator interfaces, and the transport of bags.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creation of Test Designs, Test Plans and Test Cases.
  • Execution of Test Cases in virtual environment and physically in our Test Centre. We are working with bags of up to 30 kg. Lift assist devices are available to assist you in lifting those, but be aware that the work has a physical aspect.
  • Reporting about the quality of the product based on test case results.
  • Analysis of encountered issues.
  • Supporting integration and development activities.

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering.
  • ISTQB Foundation or equivalent.
  • Experience with both hardware testing and software testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Willing to travel (up to 10%).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Independent and pro-active.
  • Hands-on mentality.
  • Able to speak and document in the English language.
