About us:
Damen Civil & Modular Constructions (part of the Damen Group) is passionate about building entire shipyards, drydocks of all sizes, a wide range of (modular) pontoons and barges, and other steelworks worldwide. We are headquartered in Gorinchem, the Netherlands, and we service and build all over the globe. About you / About the role:
As a Project Manager Engineering you ensure that all the engineering needs of any project are being fulfilled. You will have a coordinating role between the project manager and the in-house engineers and/or external engineering parties. You are able to ensure that the engineering deliverables are met and have the capability to ensure that the quality is up to standard for procurement, work preparation and ultimately for construction. Part of your role is also to ensure that all engineering deliverables are according to the sold specification, class and local regulations. You have a strong technical background with solid project management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor engineering deliverables against project deadlines and ensure that all engineering deliverables stay within budget
• Support the project managers with any technical questions
• Manage internal and third-party engineering parties
• Identify and mitigate risk in a project
• Advise on building strategies and design
• Ensure quality of engineering output and ensure proper documentation is in place

Education / skills and experience:

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in similar functions
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Shipbuilding, Maritime or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in 3D software such as Rhino, AutoCAD and Solidworks
• Good command of English (written & verbal); Dutch is preferred
