At ASICS, we’re more than just a brand; we're a movement. A movement of movement, propelled by the belief that motion strengthens the body and uplifts the mind.

If you're inspired to move yourself and the world toward a brighter, more inclusive future, we're looking for you.

Materials Development Graduate

Your role in our shared journey

Located at our EMEA headquarters in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam, you'll contribute to our mission by supporting the end-to-end material development process for our performance sportswear—helping ensure materials meet standards for quality, performance, sustainability, cost, and lead time. As a Materials Development Graduate, you'll work closely with Design, Product development, Sourcing, and suppliers to coordinate material sampling, maintain accurate material data and assist material innovations.

Your role will be instrumental in weaving the fabric of our movement, bringing unique perspectives and driving innovation with every step.

This is a fixed-term position for 6 months, with the possibility of extension for an additional 6 months based on performance. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop new skills in a supportive environment.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support the development of seasonal materials and coordinate tracking processes throughout the material development cycle.
  • Assist in arranging material testing procedures and monitor their progress to ensure timely completion and compliance.
  • Ensure all materials comply with restricted substance regulations and meet established product standards.
  • Create detailed material records in the Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to understand specific performance requirements for materials.

You have the following skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Textile Engineering, Material Science, Textile Technology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets and data management systems.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Collaborative, curious and proactive mindset.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Working abroad for four weeks every year.
  • Hybrid working model. Combine the flexibility of working from home with the dynamic energy of an office environment.

We’ve always believed in the positive benefits of movement on the body, and the mind. It’s why we’re called ASICS which stands for ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano’, or a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. Our founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka, saw that sport had the power to lift spirits, project positivity and propel people and whole communities forward. We still believe this. Which is why all of us are committed to supporting more people to move for body, and for mind.
