Kotlin Backend Developer

As a Backend Developer in the MediKIT team, you will work on a general practitioner information system fully based on HL7 FHIR. You will develop scalable backend functionality and integrations with external healthcare providers, all using open standards. Within this small, multidisciplinary team, you will take on a lot of responsibility and initiative. Together, we are scaling MediKIT to contribute to better general practitioner care.

Tech stack: HL7 FHIR, Java/Kotlin, PostgreSQL, JSON storage, Kubernetes, Azure, GitHub Actions. Our frontend is built with React and TypeScript.

What are you going to do?

Your responsibilities

• Build new features within MediKIT’s backend.
• Set up third-party integrations via open standards such as FHIR.
• Improve system performance and scalability.
• Continuously enhance the backend architecture and CI/CD pipelines.

As a Backend Developer, you’ll be part of the MediKIT team: a close-knit, multidisciplinary group using technology to renew general practitioner care. You’ll collaborate with frontend developers, UX designers, and domain experts on an integrated platform. • Experience: At least 5 years of experience developing backend applications.
• Scalability: Experience in designing or refactoring scalable systems.
• Integration: Familiarity with building integrations via standards such as FHIR.
• Tech skills: Experience with Kubernetes, Azure, GitHub Actions, Java/Kotlin, PostgreSQL and JSON storage is a plus.
• Fullstack: Experience with React and TypeScript is a plus.
