Information Security Officer - SOC Team

As a Medior Cyber Security Officer within the Security Operations Center (SOC), you are responsible for executing standardized monitoring and incident handling processes that safeguard PostNL's IT landscape. You work in a structured, process-driven environment where consistency, accuracy and discipline are essential. You monitor security alerts, investigate incidents based on predefined procedures and ensure proper registration, escalation and documentation. You contribute to maintaining a stable and reliable operational security posture.

Within the Cyber Security Office, the SOC team is responsible for detecting, analyzing and responding to security incidents across PostNL’s IT environment.

As Medior SOC Officer you will:

• Monitor SIEM dashboards and security tooling.
• Analyze alerts and determine false positives vs. actual incidents.
• Execute predefined incident response procedures.
• Escalate incidents to senior analysts or domain experts when required.
• Perform standard vulnerability follow-ups and track remediation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
• Contribute to shift-based operational continuity.

You work in a repetitive and structured setting, where adherence to procedures, quality of analysis and timely follow-up are critical

Within the Cyber Security Office, you are part of the Security Operations Center (SOC), collaborating closely with:

• DevOps teams across business units
• Cloud platform teams
• Enterprise and solution architects
• Business Information Security Officers
• Privacy and Data Governance teams

You play a key role in raising the technical security maturity of development teams and ensuring consistency across the organization.

• This position is on scale 11 (between € 4.588,- and € 6.498,- a month), depending on your level of experience.

Dit breng je mee

• Bachelor degree in IT, Cybersecurity or similar field.
• 3–5 years of experience in SOC, security monitoring or IT operations.
• Experience with SIEM tooling and incident management processes.
• Basic understanding of ISO27001, NIST or similar frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with repetitive processes and standard workflows.
• Good Dutch & English communication skills.
