Wattopia started in 2009 with little direction and great heaps of idealism, energy and enthusiasm. Over the years, we built up experience and a network of clients and collaborators. Wattopia started in 2009 with little direction and great heaps of idealism, energy and enthusiasm. Over the years, we built up experience and a network of clients and collaborators. We specialized to become developing consultants supporting the development of a healthy market for solutions that can bring us towards a net-zero carbon housing market.

Since 2017, we have been growing organically and now have two fulltime employees, 16 weekly collaborators and many many dozens of clients and partners. We aim to grow to a team of 5-10 people in three years time.

Compared to other companies in this field, we are especially good at:
- interdisciplinary research and synthesis
- facilitating innovation processes
- data-driven decision making
- energy transition strategy consulting

Wattopia is in the knowledge business. As such, continuous learning is our foundation. Being a small company, knowledge flows easily and everyone is involved in all aspects of our organization. We always invest in creating new opportunities to do something we've never done before.

Our office is in a co-working space called the Rotterdam Collective, close to central station and Stadhuis. This means there are lots of chances for inspiration, collaboration and great shared lunches.
