Joining the Sensoterra team means working in a dynamic and fast growing environment.
Sensoterra was founded in 2014 and today more than 12 people are involved in our products and services globally.

Our goal is to become THE sensor company for the wider agricultural sector. We don’t believe that there is only one technology that will win the game in precision agriculture. Therefore, our approach is collaborative; working with the existing value chain of producers, dealers, crop consultants and irrigation companies.

Our industry is an exciting one that is evolving rapidly. Large corporations are nervous about what will be the next big thing in agriculture, and we believe we are on the right track to become one of these “dangerous" startups.

The Sensoterra team consists of a diverse group of people, ranging from PhDs in Computer Sciences, Physics, but also serial entrepreneurs, young graduates, and people with a business background. The atmosphere in our office is fast-paced yet casual, dynamic yet friendly. We provide a full team lunch daily and swap war stories over a beer on Fridays.

We aspire to make 30% water reduction possible in water stressed countries. Globally, 300 mln ha of land is irrigated (an area the size of India). Agriculture’s share of water demand is typically 70-90%.
Over-irrigation of 10-20% is common even at advanced farming practices. It can be as high as 30-50% where water is not priced well.

We focus on shifting the current time-based irrigation practices to soil moisture based control.
Big trends that drive demand for our solution are water scarcity, food demand, climate change, productivity gap of smaller farmers, etc.
Our technology builds on the trends of precision agriculture, internet-of-things and big data. Within 10 years, farmers will have access to data from sensors on their field and in the air and many of their decisions will be supported or made by algorithms.
