ProCam continues to go from strength to strength with ongoing investment in national and regionalised infrastructure to deliver the best crop production service we can. Today our network of specialist regional businesses covers the whole of the UK ensuring our ‘Agronomy that Delivers’ approach combines the best of both worlds – the national resources and technical expertise of ProCam built up over 30 years and the precise local knowledge and insight of our regional businesses.

Together with our teams of ‘on-the-ground’ professional agronomists, we offer an unrivaled service in terms of helping producers get the most from their arable enterprises. In fact, over the last 16 years, ProCam customers have consistently achieved on average, 0.8t/ha more wheat than the Defra national average with the company’s top 25% producing 2.2t/h more.

Whilst agronomy lies at our heart, in recent years we have developed our thinking to cover associated technical specialisms so we can provide a fully integrated crop production service. As such, we now embrace areas such as seeds & traits, crop nutrition, precision farming and biological products. All are valuable additions that we feel can add real potential to our agronomic approach when it comes to delivering greater yields and economic returns for our customers.

We also continue to invest in technical development resources with a full UK trials and research programme working alongside our established ProCam 4Cast farm data collection, analysis and bench-marking system.

Not surprisingly our customer base is growing and our UK turnover has doubled in the last 10 years.

Since founder Tony White’s vision of a professional business advising arable growers in and around Cambridgeshire to a specialist agronomy and crop production company now employing over 200 full time agronomists, we’ve covered a lot of ground since we started in 1979. From the very beginning our focus has been on delivering an exemplary service for our customers through providing the very best technical crop production advice we can allied to the most appropriate and cost-effective products.

Over the years, we have worked hard to ensure all our customers benefit from their relationship with ProCam through helping them achieve the highest production and economic returns possible. That ‘Agronomy that Delivers’ focus has served both our company and our customers well over the years. With Tony’s vision and investment from 3i, the original business grew steadily through the 1980’s and 1990’s and by the year 2001 seven regional businesses had merged with ProCam to give coverage throughout the UK whilst still maintaining their local identities.

With the strength of this foundation, growth into Europe became possible and in 2004 a small Polish crop protection company Botus was purchased and ProCam Polska was formed. In 2008, 3i was bought out and ProCam Europe was formed as a parent company for both the UK and Polish businesses. Since then both ProCam Polska and ProCam UK have continued to expand with ProCam Europe firmly establishing itself as Europe’s largest privately owned agronomy group.

In the UK specifically, ProCam’s network of regional resources has grown considerably and we’ve made considerable investment in new technical areas to help growers meet the challenges of the future. And whilst much has changed, some things have not. We remain as committed as ever to delivering tangible benefits for our customers and our ‘Agronomy that Delivers’ promise has never been more important.

Our ‘Agronomy that Delivers’ promise to customers is underpinned by three core values:

KNOWLEDGE NOT INFORMATION
All our agronomy is based on knowledge. Knowledge derived not just from over 30 years of technical expertise, but also from our understanding of new products coming to the market and our commitment to develop the most effective agronomic approaches. Knowledge gained through investing in our industry leading 4Cast agronomy database, our regional trials programmes and our demonstration sites. Knowledge built on the in-depth experience of providing professional agronomy for the UK’s top producers for many years. Knowledge that makes the difference where it matters most to our customers – on the bottom line.

SOLUTIONS NOT INPUTS
Whilst we provide the very best crop protection products, delivered promptly and efficiently throughout the UK, that’s only part of the story. Our real focus is on delivering solutions. Solutions that help growers get the most from their arable enterprises and the money they spend on caring for their crops. Solutions that take into account all aspects of growing crops. Solutions that maximise grower margins and help them build a profitable arable enterprise. Solutions that allow them to plan a sustainable future.

PEOPLE NOT PROCESSES
We are constantly investing in leading-edge technology and can claim several industry firsts, but we believe strongly in being a people-driven company first and foremost. Our agronomists are the best in the business supported by an exceptional level of technical development and training. Furthermore, we believe in genuine customer service. With ProCam, we promise our customers will always be treated as a person – not an account.
