This Privacy Policy is part of the User Agreement of Magnet.me. Some definitions that you will find in this Privacy Policy are explained in the User Agreement.

Introduction

The mission of Magnet.me is to offer you a service that enables you to orientate yourself on the labour market in a clear, transparent and personal manner, gives you insight in your hiring potential and allows you to get in touch with potential employers, regardless of their size and/or recruitment spending and to offer the opportunity to employers to attract the best interns and employees in order for them to let their enterprises grow.

We founded Magnet.me out of our own frustration while orientating on the labour market, so we are very committed to do everything in our power to offer you our services in an optimal way, always bearing in mind that our users are at all times in first place.

In order to realise this, we collect and use certain data. In this Privacy Policy we explain which data about you we collect, how we use it, why we use it and how you can request and obtain and alter your data.

We regard the privacy of our users of the highest importance. For a large part, the guarantee of your privacy is incorporated in the concept of Magnet.me. For example, other Members cannot view your profile and Employers can only access your Profile upon your explicit permission (accepting their Network request).

1. Data control

Your personal and Profile data that have been provided to or gathered by Magnet.me is controlled by Magnet.me B.V., whose registered office is at Goudsesingel 200, Rotterdam (the Netherlands). If you have any concern about providing information to us or such information being used in any way permitted in this Privacy Policy and the User Agreement of Magnet.me, you should not create a Profile on Magnet.me and/or become a Member. If you have already created a Profile, you can terminate this Profile by sending an email requesting Profile termination to info@manget.me.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following data.

2.1 Contact information and Login credentials

To create a Profile, you must provide us with your name, email address and a password. Your contact details can never be accessed by other Members and can only be viewed by Employers when you choose to apply with an Employer through the Website.

2.2 Profile data

After you create a Profile, you may choose to provide additional information on your Profile, like information about your education, extracurricular activities, work experience, language and other skills, the date you're expected to start your career, your status and your (orientation) interests.

2.3 Receiving, accepting and ignoring Network requests

Based on the information you provide in your Profile, you automatically receive Network requests of Employers when you meet their designated criteria. If you choose to accept a Network request from an Employer, you accept that Employer into your personal network on the Website. We collect data on which Network requests you accept an ignore in order to show you exclusively information about – and coming from the Employers that you are interested in, enabling you to optimally orientate yourself on the labour market with only relevant information.

2.4 Use of the Website

We receive information when you use the Website. We, for instance, collect data when you visit a Company profile or if you apply to an event, internship, placement or job. We do not use these to show you advertisements, but to generate statistics that are helpful for Employers. We also gather information about you behaviour on the Website through Google Analytics in order for us to improve our services.

2.5 Inviting friends to join Magnet.me

You may invite friends who do not yet have a Profile to join Magnet.me through the Website, like sending a direct invite by email. For this purpose, we collect the email addresses you provide and send an email with an invite to create a Profile to these email addresses. In this email, the recipient is informed that you want to them to register on Magnet.me. It is also possible to import individual email addresses from your Gmail- and/or Hotmail address book. When imported, these email addresses are, similar to the ones you provide manually, also collected by us. If the people you chose to invite do not register, they may receive up to three reminders of your invitation.

2.6 Cookies

When using the Website, little text files called cookies, are being saved to your computer. We use cookies to improve the Website's functionality and to receive information on visits and use of the Website. We also use cookies to remember your Login credentials, if you choose us to do so. You can remove cookies through your browser settings. Through the website http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/en you can get an insight in which cookies are saved to your computer.

2.7 Other

The services of Magnet.me are continuously evolving as we seek to improve them. We frequently develop and introduce new features, which – in some cases – might entail that we will collect new (kinds of) data, which would mean that we would have to adjust this Privacy Policy.

3. How we use your data

We use your data in the following manners.

3.1 Identification

We use your Login credentials (email address and password) or – if you chose to register with your Facebook account – your Facebook account to identify you as a Member and provide you access to the Website and your Profile.

3.2 Sending Network requests

We use your Profile data to send you automatically generated Network requests of Employers if your Profile sufficiently meets an Employer Profile. If you chose to accept the Network request of an Employer, you agree that the concerning Employer has – from that moment on – access to Profile, can view it, export, download and print it, until you remove the Employer from your network. Do not accept the Network request of an Employer if you do not want that Employer to view, download or print you Profile. If you already accepted the Network request of an Employer and you no longer want that Employer to be able to view, download and/or print you Profile, you can remove that Employer from your network. In no case your Profile can be accessed, viewed, downloaded or printed by another Member.

If you choose to ignore the Network request of an Employer, the Employer is not notified and can never find out you ignored their Network request.

3.3 Provision of tailored content

Based on the Network requests you have accepted, you receive tailored content. This means that you only receive content about and from the Employers that you have accepted into your network by accepting their Network request. You may also receive personal messages of the Employers from your network.

3.4 Communication

Depending on the Network requests you receive and accept, you receive communication about and from the Employers from your network, via email or on the Website. We will send you email notifications when you have received a personal message from an Employer and we will send you weekly updates by email about the events, internships, placements and jobs that are offered by the Employers from your network or of which the deadlines are expiring soon.

3.5 Surveys

We may use your Profile date to send you requests to take part in surveys, executed by Magnet.me or third parties. Magnet.me or third parties will not send you requests to take part in these surveys if you did not give prior permission to do so.

3.6 Use of third-party analytics services

We use third-party analytics services to help understand your usage of our services. In particular, we provide a limited amount of your information (such as your email address and sign-up date) to Intercom, Inc. ("Intercom") and utilize Intercom to collect data for analytics purposes when you visit our website or use our product. Intercom analyses your use of our website and/or product and tracks our relationship so that we can improve our service to you. We may also use Intercom as a medium for communications, either through email, or through messages within our product(s). As part of our service agreements, Intercom collects publicly available contact and social information related to you, such as your email address, gender, company, job title, photos, website URLs, social network handles and physical addresses, to enhance your user experience. 3.7 Disclosure

It is possible that we may need to disclose contact and Profile information to exercise or protect the rights, ownership or security of Magnet.me, our Members, employees or others. We may also disclose your Profile information or contact information to a third party as part of a sale of the assets of Magnet.me or as the result of a change in control of the company, or in preparation of any of these events. Any third party to which Magnet.me transfers or sells its assets will have the right to continue to use the personal and other information that you have provided to us in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.

4. Your rights and data retention

4.1 Rights to access, correct or delete your data and termination of your Profile

You have the right to (1) access your contact information and Profile information that is controlled by Magnet.me and to modify, correct or delete it and to (2) terminate your Profile. You can also contact us for any Profile information which is not on your Profile or readily accessible to you by sending an email to legal@magnet.me. In order for us to process your request, we may ask you to provide us with a copy of you passport or ID card. We may also require addition identification.

4.2 Data retention

We retain the personal information you have provided to us while your Profile is in existence or as needed to provide you services. In the event you choose to terminate your Profile by sending an email requesting Profile termination to info@magnet.me, we will ask you whether we may retain your data for the purpose of offering you our services in the future. If you do not want for us to do so, we will delete your data, except for the data we need to retain for our administration. Messages and applications will also be deleted.

Magnet.me may retain your data after you have terminated your Profile for the purpose of offering you our services in the future. We will not use your data for this purpose after two years after you terminated your Profile.

You may at all times object to the use of your data or email address for marketing purposes by sending an email to legal@magnet.me.

5. Important information

5.1 Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. You should therefore frequently read over this Privacy Policy. If we make significant changes, you will ben notified by email or through the Website. If you object to any of the changes, you may terminate your Profile.

5.2 Security

We have implemented security safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide to us. Access to your data on Magnet.me is password-protected and we offer secure HTTPS-access to the Website. To protect any data you save to the Website, we regularly monitor our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. Please bear in mind that the internet is still 100% secure environment, so we cannot ensure or warrant of any information that you provide to Magnet.me. You are and will remain responsible for the protection of you Login credentials. Keep your account safe by using a strong password.
