Trading Underwriter - (P/T, job-share or F/T)

The opportunity:

The Real Estate, Property & Casualty Underwriter will analyse and underwrite new and renewal

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time.

Main Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business
• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.
• Develop
• Support the organization's sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities
• Make broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
• Participate in Sales Team meetings as they relate to assigned brokers and / or territory
• Serve as key contact for assigned target accounts
• Quote and set coverage, negotiate terms and conditions

Your skills and experience:

• Experience in writing Real Estate risks would be advantageous.
• You will have an understanding of insurance industry and regulated laws as well as product knowledge and financial concepts relevant to the role.
• You will be able to apply routine concepts e.g pricing and risk impact using standard models and able to use latest applicable technologies.
• Demonstrated skills in communication and negotiation are essential as you will be responsible for building customer and broker relationships ensuring customer requests are responded to in a timely manner.
• You will provide effective sales assistance when requested and demonstrate knowledge of Zurich’s sales process.
• You will support and, if appropriate, coach fellow underwriters and other colleagues on specific technical topics, working collaboratively as an honest and reliable teammate.
