Introduction

The Legal Corporate & Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team is based in Veldhoven and works with a network of ASML inhouse counsels globally. The team is part of the ASML Legal & Compliance department, which includes over 100 professionals. The team provides expert legal advice related to a broad array of corporate matters within ASML, such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, restructurings, financing, legal entity management, disclosures, insider trading compliance and intercompany flows.

Your Assignment

We have two internships within our team. We aim to give each intern a focus area (corporate or ESG), but both interns will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of business activities of the entire team. Your tasks will be varied and tailored to your background and preferences, ensuring a challenging and enriching experience. You will actively participate in our team's daily operations and contribute to Legal Corporate & ESG’s projects, large and small.

Internship Assignment 1: Corporate Focus

  • Gain experience with corporate law in the Netherlands and the EMEA region
  • Apply relevant corporate law in annual compliance processes, document management, shareholder administration, UBO registration, etc.
  • Learn how to draft and execute event-driven corporate changes, such as board changes and changes regarding signing authority
  • Prepare legal advice on specific, well-defined corporate matters
  • Support various kinds of transactions in Finance and M&A/VC (depending on relevance, availability, sensitivity and complexity)

Internship Assignment 2: ESG Focus

  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret upcoming legislation in ESG and transform regulatory obligations and requirements into practical advice
  • Assist business counterparts in understanding how changes in laws and regulations affect their activities
  • Prepare legal advice on relevant ESG matters, such as CSRD, CSDDD, EU Packaging, and Packaging Waste Regulation
  • Draft commercial agreements to support initiatives under the ASML community partnership program

Both of these are master's level internships lasting a minimum of 6 months, working 4-5 days per week (3-4 days onsite). These internships are not suitable for thesis writing. The start date is around February/March 2026. Please provide a clear motivation for one of the internships in your cover letter.

Your Profile

  • You are a master student in Business Law, Corporate Law, Financial Law, European Law, or Law & Technology
  • You possess effective communication skills and the ability to connect with relevant stakeholders
  • You are able to work in a structured manner and have attention to detail
  • You have a genuine interest to comprehend the matters you are working on and how the team’s activities fit in ASML’s overall strategy
  • You have a hands-on mentality, are proactive, and driven by curiosity
  • You are fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship
  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter should include your willingness to relocate
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement)
