About the Finance Department

The Finance Department is a supporting service department within IBFD, the leading international provider of cross-border tax expertise. Based on our knowledge of financial processes and systems, we provide timely, complete, reliable and compliant financial services. These services range from financial administration to compliance with laws and regulations, and from planning and reporting to financial support and advice. IBFD is now looking for an Assistant Controller Finance to strengthen the Finance Department. In this role, you will be a key contributor to maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting the control cycle across the organization.

Profile

Are you an accurate and analytical finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, international environment? Do you take ownership of financial processes and strive for continuous improvement in accuracy, compliance and efficiency?

As Assistant Controller Finance, you will play an essential role in the daily financial operations of IBFD. You will ensure that the financial administration is correct, complete and up-to-date. You will be closely involved in periodic closings, analyses, audits and reporting processes. With your keen eye for detail, you will help ensure that financial information is reliable and delivered on time. You will work proactively and independently, while maintaining close cooperation with your colleagues in Finance and other departments. You will contribute to process improvements, system optimization (especially within D365FO), and the professionalization of financial reporting and control. You will report hierarchically to the Senior Manager Finance and functionally to the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining financial administrations
  • Checking, processing and reconciling financial data
  • Reviewing and analysing general ledger accounts
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reconciliations
  • Supporting the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes
  • Drafting and maintaining financial reports and analyses
  • Assisting in internal and external audit processes
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting cycle
  • Identifying opportunities for process and system improvements
  • Assisting in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with Dutch GAAP
  • Contributing to the continuous optimization of financial systems and procedures

Work Environment

The Finance Department consists of experienced professionals who ensure a reliable and efficient financial administration for IBFD globally. The team operates from the headquarters in Amsterdam and collaborates closely with international branches in the USA, Malaysia and China. At IBFD, you will work in an international and multicultural environment, with over 40 different nationalities represented. Collaboration, openness and professionalism form the foundation of our department.

You Have/Are

  • A completed HBO degree in Finance or Business Economics
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a financial or controlling role
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP)
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably Dynamics 365FO)
  • An excellent command of Excel and other financial tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Accurate, structured and detail-oriented
  • A proactive and independent working attitude
  • Good communication skills in English and Dutch
  • A team player with a hands-on mentality and a drive for improvement

Salary & fringe benefits

We offer you a full-time (37 hours) position with a starting salary, depending on background and relevant work experience, between €3,200 and €3,900 (based on full-time employment) gross per month. This is completed by an attractive package of fringe benefits, including:
