Join the European Patent Office (EPO) and Support Innovation Across Europe

With over 6,000 staff from more than 30 different countries, the European Patent Office (EPO) is one of the largest public service institutions in Europe. Our core function is to grant high-quality patents for Europe – fostering innovation, competitiveness and economic growth.

The Directorate European Patent Academy, as the EPO’s external education and training arm, promotes patent knowledge and IP education in Europe and beyond. To support this important task, we are looking for a Learning Partnerships Administrator.

In this role you will play a key role in the design, development and implementation of strategic partnerships that support the Academy’s mission to enhance IP knowledge and capacity building. You will work in close collaboration with academic institutions, international organisations, national IP offices and other stakeholders – to plan, manage and evaluate joint learning initiatives, including training programmes, knowledge sharing platforms and certification schemes.

With us you will:

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, research organisations, IP offices and international institutions
  • Coordinate joint projects and learning initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Support the design and delivery of co-branded training programmes
  • Coordinate with other areas of the Office on strategic training and cooperation initiatives assigned to the Academy
  • Represent the Academy in meetings and visits with member states or other related parties
  • Support PATLIB2028 implementation actions, in cooperation with national offices and Knowledge Sharing pilots
  • Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality results and provide expert feedback and advice on various matters within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Provide timely reporting, statistics, and approval documentation

Apply if you have:

  • University degree in law, education, international relations, or related field; specialism in intellectual property is an asset
  • At least 3 years’ experience managing partnerships or learning programmes in an international setting
  • Experience establishing and maintaining a broad network of relationships
  • Advanced project management and communication skills and strong analytical skills to evaluate and assess relevant documentation
  • Ability to navigate cross-cultural communications and collaborate effectively
  • Experience working with academic institutions or international organisations is desirable
  • Experience in evaluating program effectiveness and experience with reporting on key metrics and outcomes
  • Knowledge of patent-related processes and/or IP education is desirable
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, and team-oriented mindset

Our minimum requirements for this post

  • Diploma of completed studies at master's level or – in exceptional cases – equivalent professional experience
  • Generally, an excellent knowledge (at least C1) of one official language (English, French and German) and ability to understand the other two; alternatively, excellent knowledge (at least C1) of at least one official language (in such cases, the willingness to learn the missing language(s) and to reach level B2 within a set time frame would be required)
  • Citizenship of one of the member states of the European Patent Organisation

Key information

  • Job group: 4
  • Grade: G7 to G10 (net (basic) monthly salary for this vacancy: EUR 6,921 to 9,801, depending on experience and location)
  • Duration of appointment: Five years, with the possibility of extension
  • Career path: Technical
  • Application deadline: 15 August 2025
  • Interviews planned for: Week commencing on 25 August 2025

* after deduction of EPO-internal tax and before deduction of staff contributions to the social security and pension schemes.
