The big picture

As Rabobank, we touch upon the lives of many people. In every role we play there is a human rights dimension that we need to consider. From how we treat our own people as an employer to how we address land rights and labor conditions as a corporate lender and a buyer of goods and services. That is why ‘Enable People’ is one of our sustainability aspirations alongside Climate and Nature. Our goal is a more inclusive society for customers, communities and our workforce.

Advisor Sustainability – People

Your team, People - Group Sustainability, works with stakeholders to ensure that as Rabobank we respect human rights within our own operations, business activities and relationships. We do this by identifying the areas that are most at risk to people and make sure to include these in our business processes. We are committed to the United Nations' Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP's) and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct. These commitments guide us.

You and your job

As Advisor Sustainability – People & Human Rights, you apply professional expert knowledge to support the implementation of the People Program throughout the bank. You translate this expert knowledge to operations and business, engaging and working with key internal stakeholders and liaising with external working groups.

Top responsibilities

  • Support and advise multidisciplinary teams delivering our People Program with your expertise (e.g. in human rights, labor rights, land rights, discrimination).
  • Be a key player in engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders within the bank to enhance their knowledge, understanding of the People theme.
  • Monitor business and human rights developments within the financial and food & agricultural sector.

Together we achieve more than alone

We believe in the power of difference. Bringing together people's differences is what makes us an even better bank. So we are very curious about what you can bring to our team at Group Sustainability.

“The People team works to prevent and manage adverse human rights impacts within our own operations, business activities and relationships, enabling a more inclusive society for customers, communities and our workforce.”
Vicky Dodman, Lead People.

The circa 60 people in Group Sustainability can't wait to meet you. Now it's your turn to make them stronger in acting as a center of expertise, advising on a variety of sustainability topics and accelerating the implementation of sustainability on an ongoing basis. Working together is the way we work; as 1 energetic team at Rabobank.
