The program is built on three pillars: social and business development; technical and functional skills; and leadership development. You’ll also undertake at least four rotations among our different retail brands and countries. To stimulate cross-functional learning, you’ll engage in inspiring learning sessions together with fellow trainees and other associates. Your program begins in the International HR team at the Global Support Office (GSO) or the European Business Services (EBS) in Ahold Delhaize’s headquarters in Zaandam, the Netherlands. In this year, you’ll learn what working for a large food retailer like Ahold Delhaize entails. Alongside discovering your own strengths and growth areas, you’ll also focus on growing your HR expertise.
Throughout your second year, you’ll experience everything that goes into working for a global omnichannel food retailer like Ahold Delhaize. As part of the HR traineeship, you’ll get to do an international rotation within HR. During this rotation period, you'll live abroad, working for one of our great local brands in Europe or the United States. It’s a great opportunity to experience the differences between HR departments in various countries first hand. All your newfound knowledge and experience is of considerable value to our company and brands. On a personal level, you will gain a unique, broad perspective on HR, management and omnichannel food retail.
In your final year, you’ll choose an area within HR to focus on. Whether you aspire to specialize as a HR Business Partner or as an generalist, the choice is yours! You'll return to your home-brand, where you’ll get the opportunity to further develop your skills and build your experience, optimally preparing you for your future career within Ahold Delhaize’s HR department.
