Role Overview: Trader in the Intraday Trading Team

Make short- and long-term energy purchasing decisions. The team of traders, commercial analysts and meteorologists ensures that there is enough power and gas every day to meet demand, at the right price and with low risks. On the trading floor, you are primarily responsible for Eneco's first-line risks. Eneco aims to be climate neutral by 2035.

The Intraday Trading team is responsible for optimizing Eneco's results within the intraday power market. This complex challenge involves a large and diverse portfolio of customers, sustainable assets, and gas-fired power plants. Our ambition is to maximize renewable energy on the grid at the lowest cost. We develop state-of-the-art forecasting and optimization models, interactive visualization, and decision support tools.

We are looking for a trader who can make the best buy and sell decisions in the market and steer our assets to the most optimal points. As a trader, you translate market knowledge into profit.

• Be responsible for the trading profit/loss, expected to contribute by being highly commercially oriented.
• Optimize the available flexible generation capacity in our portfolio.
• Manage the imbalance exposures of our customers and renewable portfolio within the intraday market.
• Develop and execute profitable trading strategies.
• Be innovative and collaborate with other teams to grow our business.

Entrepreneurship, result-oriented skills, and good people skills are essential to thrive in a dynamic continuously improving environment. Recognizing profitable deals and knowing how to close them is critical.

• You have a Master's Degree in a STEM subject.
• Meteorological knowledge is a plus.
• You have experience with SQL/Python/Excel/VBA.
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Previous experience is not a must; this is an entry-position.
