MWR's award-winning internship programme is designed to find and develop the next generation of security consultants. After receiving the Princess Royal Training Award in 2018 in recognition of the quality of the internship programme, MWR has continued to build on the programmes strengths to ensure that its interns gain as much experience and knowledge from the programme as possible.

Interns at MWR complete training courses in application security, network security, malware analysis and threat hunting to provide them with the core technical skills required by penetration testers around the globe.

Upon the completion of this training, interns work side by side with MWR's world renowned research team to investigate a chosen area. Intern projects in the past have researched topics ranging from NFC card security and the Windows kernel, through to global cyber security strategies. Last year one of MWR's interns discovered a 0-day in a popular enterprise application and earned a CVE in the process.

Following this research interns are encouraged to share their research through conferences and publications. Examples of MWR's world leading research can be found on MWR Labs.

The final portion of the internship is spent shadowing MWR's consultants on real life engagements to obtain valuable experience in how cyber security techniques are applied in the wild.

Where can I find out more?

Details of MWR and the intern lifestyle are covered in our "Can you hack it?" pack.

Who should apply?

Interns at MWR often come from a computing background, however, applicants with a diverse background are encouraged to apply! For example if you’re a psychologist who has taught themselves some python and is excited about security, we want to hear from you!

If you’re looking for a permanent or graduate job please contact us and we can discuss those with you. Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate technical competence, self-motivation and a passion for security.

When is it?

Internships are paid, 10 weeks long and take place over the summer period. The next programme will begin on Monday 1st July 2019 at our London and Basingstoke offices.
