Job Summary:
NetApp have made a ‘big bet’ on providing data management solutions through public cloud providers. Our growing public cloud services team is looking to bring in a talented technical individual who is motivated to make a difference to our company’s success with public cloud providers, with a particular focus on FSx For NetApp. FSxN is a 1st party service, owned, managed, and supported by AWS.
This next Pre-sales hire will be based in the EMEA region, working to identify and understand candidate workloads, architect appropriate solutions, demo, design and run proof-of-concepts and onboard customers into active consumption. Much of the customer engagement will be done hand-in-hand with AWS, where we are providing the technical expertise of NetApp ONTAP offered by AWS natively and also NetApp services running in AWS. There is also an evangelism side of the role; we need someone keen to spread the word about how our technology enables innovation in AWS within AWS themselves, within NetApp and within the potential customer base. The role will also collaborate with colleagues across the world with a focus across the EMEA region.
About the team:
We are the field team for NetApp’s Public Cloud Services business unit. It is a dynamic and rapidly growing area for NetApp with more than 100% growth YoY - we pride ourselves on winning new business through an agile and adaptable business model and developing ourselves personally and professionally in the process.
What you can bring to the table:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-driven & independently motivated, you will not be closely supervised, so we need someone who will go out ‘get stuff done’, without being prompted
Ability to prioritise and address multiple projects concurrently
Appetite to learn and try new things
Experience running proof-of-concepts for software, hardware and cloud solutions
Strong technical knowledge of cloud concepts (AWS certification beneficial, but not necessary)
Familiarity with container orchestration and container runtime concepts and solutions
On-premises infrastructure and workload, use case experience are a plus
A willingness to travel within EMEA to customer locations, and occasionally further in field
Excellent English language skills (one additional European languages is a must)
University degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience) plus five plus years of experience

Sales:
Qualifying customer needs, and the fit of the solutions NetApp offers in AWS
Designing solution may include one or more of software, cloud subscriptions and professional services; running technical workshops to demonstrate those solutions
Designing and running proof-of-concepts to illustrate the fit of solutions within the customer’s environment
Evangelism:
Presenting at customer and partner executive briefings, AWS and NetApp sales meetings, etc.
Enabling the AWS architect community on the value NetApp solutions bring to their customers
Participating in / hosting industry meet-ups and user groups
Publishing reference architectures, significant wins, etc, internally and / or externally
Improvement / learning time:
Staying abreast of the latest developments in public cloud services
Acquiring / maintaining technical expertise
Developing or enhancing processes and techniques employed by our sales and technical teams
