Assignment Introduction The current market situation demands the industrial player to lower their energy consumptions and at the same time to lower carbon footprint. One of the solution that ABB has is OPTIMAX® Site EMS where it can provide an energy monitoring and optimization functionality for various type of plant. This solu-tion can work for various type of plant, eg. refinery, waste to energy and also including hydrogen plant. The problem that we expect the intern to solve is to implement energy management system in a cer-tain configuration in order to optimize and to forecast the energy production and energy consumption. The energy production could come from the grid, solar, or wind. The energy consumption might go to production unit, building management system, or EV-Charging. In addition to that, the assignment will include flexible load, such as battery energy storage system (BESS) and hydrogen plan. What are we looking for? A candidate who can solve the energy optimization problem in a certain configuration within a simulat-ed environment. The objective could be one or more of the following: minimizing energy cost, peak shaving/shifting, maximize self-consumption, or minimizing CO2 production. It is possible for the candidate to come with their own idea about the plant configuration that they want to build or test. During the assignment, the candidate will be supervised by the expert (including solution architect and solution specialist) to design their solutions.

Your background

• You are an enthusiastic and motivated HBO or WO student who is looking for a graduation internship in the field of Digital OT.
• You are looking for an internship for at least 5 months.
• A wait-and-see attitude does not suit you, because you like to take the initiative yourself.
• You have a good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written.
• Preferably have a basic knowledge about RedHat technology and network configuration.
