JOB PURPOSE

The Global Value Channel is second only to e-Commerce in growth and importance across our business. To achieve our channel ambition, it is critical that that we continue to deliver sustainable growth ahead of the rest of the business also with Lidl & Aldi.

Within the Global CD (Costumer Development) Value Channel team, you will be at the center of where global CD strategy is created and will be responsible for delivering long term results which shape the trajectory of our business.

Our ambition is to support our local markets / Business Units to deliver both internal & external incremental value by delivering CD’s Future-Fit priorities through strategic partnership with our global customers.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

To run the commercial relationship with Lidl & Aldi for Home Care, Personal Care and Beauty & Wellbeing, whilst delivering a sustainable and accelerated growth agenda.

  • Lead and deliver centralized contract negotiations on behalf of Unilever local markets / Business Units, focus on high impact growth or risk mitigation initiatives (focus on topline and competitive growth for Unilever).
  • Own the co-ordination, governance, and conflict resolution across Unilever local markets / Business Units for Lidl & Aldi, whilst representing Unilever to this Retailers.
  • Represent Lidl & Aldi to cross functional teams to deliver initiatives to unlock a future fit growth agenda (addressing the key requirements of its unique Customer Economic Model) – work closely with the Value Channel team as the key internal interface.
  • Develop and share customer-specific capabilities, best practice examples and negotiation learnings across Unilever market teams.

THE QUALITIES WE LOOK FOR

This is a high-profile management role with exposure across both Global and Local Customer Development teams (within Unilever) and carries the accountability of leading the commercial relationship with Lidl & Aldi together with delivering sustainable growth for Unilever. The role requires a strong manager who has potential to grow. The person in this role will have a commercial / selling background, with proven customer management and negotiation experience and skills.

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • At least 3+ years commercial working experience in Customer Development or equivalent.
  • You are a strong negotiator, who can create value for both the Customer & Unilever.
  • You know how to navigate through the organization and can influence at various levels.
  • You like to collaborate and are a true team player.
  • Trade category and channel experience is an added advantage.
  • Professional English is required. Professional German is preferred.
