Introduction

The Functional Application Manager (FAM) is responsible for the implementation of changes as a result of the business wishes in the existing systems for the applications under him / her and business support in the continuity of the assigned applications within the domain. This is related to the SLA and the use of the relevant applications. Provides support to the business with regard to the correct use of these applications.

What are you going to do?

As of 2015, the Digital Commercial program in Cargo is in place. With Agile product teams (IT and business) we have delivered functionalities to serve our customers the best via our direct online channels: a.o. our website afklcargo.com and the customer portal myCargo including booking and tracking functionality. These services are now available in an API, which makes it possible to connect directly with our customers and 3rd part distribution platforms. Next to that, part of the program focuses on the AFKL employee as another user of the functionalities, in order to safeguard a seamless experience for our customer via the channel of choice (off- and/or online).

The objective of the FAM is to support the business in question in achieving its objectives through a continuous optimization of processes, organization and information facilities and to monitor their continuity:

  1. Translating business questions in application features
  2. Change and release management
  3. Functional testing and organizing user acceptance tests
  4. Functional Application Management
  5. Takes care of first and second line application support with IT regarding incidents
  6. Supports and advises on the use of the application functionalities, by means of detailed knowledge of existing applications and the way in which they support the business processes
  7. Contribute to the realization of project objectives in which the manageability and continuity of the application is paramount
  8. Ensures, together with business and IT, the presence of contingency plans
  9. Information security

Your profile

  • Extensive specialist knowledge of functional application management, methods and techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of business processes and systems within the relevant business unit
  • Knowledge of financial management
  • Familiarity with information management
  • Oral and written knowledge of the English language
  • Managerial experience in a project context Stakeholder management
  • Good understanding of technical implementations, architecture solutions and dependencies between applications.
  • Experience with usage of JIRA and Confluence
